About this mod

This is a compilation of 2 mods - "3 talent points per level" and "no effects for Dark difficulty items".

Permissions and credits
You can find multiple implementations for both - "3 talents per level" and "no effects for Dark difficulty items", but compiling them together is impossible, cause they change the same archive, it is also impossible to find out which in archive files wer changed. So you have to make changes by yourself with the help of some guides. that is why this mod was made.

Verified with the last steam W2:EE version.

This mod makes the following changes:

  • Remove Dark difficulty items effects while keeping healing/damaging
  • Changes the amount of talent points per level to 3

A version with Empty Hand - Dice Poker Cheat:

  • Empty Hand - Dice Poker Cheat (throw the dice out of the table and you'll win)

If your hand is empty, it will count as Five of a Kind. So just throw the dice out of the table then you'll win.

Why is it logical to get 3 talent points per level?

Well, first this has a mathematic rationale, there are 51 talents with 2 level of each, so the total amount of talent points you can spend is 102, the max level is 35-th while starting on the 1-st level, that means it is possible to get 34 levels, multiplying 34 by 3 we get 102. So there is no logic in setting the max level to 35 with 1 talent per level, but it is logical and obvious with 3 talents per level, cause in this case you will max all the talents at the 35th level.

The second moment is that in The Witcher 1 player gets 3 talents per level for almost the entire game.

All this means that most likely the creators originally planned to set the amount of talent points per level to 3, but changed their mind for some reasons.

Anyway, I believe that it is more interesting to play with 3 talent points per level, cause so you can max all of your talents. It makes the game a bit easier, but if your intention is to get max efficiency, you can get it by combining alchemy and sword talents just to get the best bonuses, and it will not be much worse compared to 3 talents per level. You can say "but we get them much faster", yes, that is why this makes the game a bit easier, but in that meaning there is no difference between 1 talent point per level and 3 talent points per level, cause somebody can say "it is too easy playing with 1 talent per level, it should be 1 talent per 3 levels" or something like  "it should be no talents at all".
