The file in this mod come in .dzip form and it will need to be unpacked if you want to pick and choose which files you want (for instance, if you only want the black armor and not the brown). To do this, you'll need Gibbed Red Tools: https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher2/mods/768
Gibbed Red Tools is very easy to use. Unzip the Gibbed Red Tools file that you download, making sure that all the files are in the same folder, and put that folder on your C drive, or whichever drive on which you have Windows installed. I put the folder in my Witcher 2 root folder; the reason you do this is to bypass any permission requirements you run into. I've read that you can run the program as administrator, but I haven't done that myself. All you have to do, once you've put the folder on your C drive (or wherever) is take the .dzip file you want to unpack--which, in this case, is "MOD_RavensHuntersArmorsRetroProjectV2"--and drag and drop it onto the "Gibbed.RED.Unpack.exe" file. A command prompt window will pop up showing the files being unpacked and Gibbed Red Tools will automatically put everything in an output folder with the same name as the .dzip file you are unpacking.
The .xbm files you’ve just unpacked are located in MOD_RavensHuntersArmorsRetroProjectV2>characters>player>model>trunk. The "geralt__b35.xbm" file is the black armor and the "geralt__b16.xbm" is the brown armor, and it appears that the brown one is the Hunters armor and the black one the Ravens armor. The W2ent files contain the meshes, I think. As for all the .xml files, I have no idea what they are. Maybe they alter the stats? I don't know. If anyone knows what the .xml files are for please comment and tell us!
At this point, all you need to do, as Jckspacy said, is put the files in your CookedPC folder. The files will replace what is in your Pack0.dzip file.
I’ve my instructions are wrong or I’ve left anything out, please feel free to correct me. Hope this helps!
To anyone still wondering how to install this mod. I reccomend you download the "Gibbed RED Tools" then open it up and drag this mod's .dzip files to the "Gibbed.RED.Unpack" application. It'll instantly make a folder filled with the actual textures. Then just drag and drop into your CookedPC folder and you're good to go.
And yes. I've tested it and it worked like a charm.
need help i put all drip files into the cookedpc folder and i went to opitions in the menu and it was enabled but the game won't start can anyone help me ?
I am a modder and this mod left me more confused than any other mod in the nexus forum. Which is the specific file for the ravens armor and will it change or conflict with anything else as I am unsure based on all the other files you included and because you mentioned changing other things a few times. I have files I have modded that I do not want overwritten or to have conflicts with. For a texture file it would be nice to have only that file rather than all these other files that are not relevant. That should be a modders resource file posted separately. Many would love that. But I still have no idea which is the raven armor and if it is a stand alone.
