@jim_uk: The food looks to be sweetrolls, breadrolls & a cheese wedge. But that's usual fare with ale or mead. A delicacy like (say) "Venison" would hardly be readily available (or cheap), at the woe-begotten border outpost taverns, that these battle veterans seem to trudge into.
