Not working for me. I have tried placing the files loose in the Data folder, loose in the Override folder, and in their own folder within the Override folder, but to no avail. I am in Chapter 3, meeting Kalkstein in the tower. Talking to him for the first time automatically starts the dialogue which gives the 1000 orens reward. The dialogue closes, I receive the 1000 orens, and give Kalkstein the notes, Tarot Card, and teleportation crystals. I have no opportunity to mention my expenses to him. Talking to him again only gives me to the option to ask about his research or to say farewell.
Any ideas?
UPDATE: Culprit found. The files cn_kalkstein_10 and cn_kalkstein_11 are also present in the popular mod 'Project Mersey,' in the Dialogue folder. To get around this, I moved those two files from Project Mersey and placed them on my desktop, then loaded a previous save. Talking to Kalkstein this time around worked as your mod intended, and he compensated me for my expenses. Then I saved, closed the game, and moved the two files back to the Project Mersey folder.
The Project Mersey fix appears to be for the Journal's locations entry for the Mage's Tower. A missing entry is added. "The riddle of the tower has been solved and its door stands open." Removing the files meant your mod worked, but there is no way to get that journal entry afterwards, which is a pity. However, I'd say you get a better sense of closure from Kalkstein apologizing, and compensating you for all the expenses you incurred while making his dream come true, than from one line in a location glossary.
Still, it would be nice if somehow the conflict between the two mods could be fixed somehow. For now, I recommend adding a note in both the description and the readme file, making people aware of the conflict, and that they will need to move or delete the duplicate files from their ProjectMersey/Dialogue folder before you have this conversation with Kalkstein.
Jacktthompson, everything that's in your Data folder loads as an override. I've been suggesting that people make an Override folder so that it's easier to keep track of their mods, but it's not actually necessary.
