About this mod

Reshade for Watch Dogs. Based on The Fall of Windy City mod. Inspired by The Matrix film stock but without overdoing the color, subtle Raytracing GI Included

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Based on the latest lighting overhaul mod The Fall of Windy City. I like the natural lighting of TFWC but the story set in Watch Dogs requires grimmer color.

REQUIRES!
The Fall of Windy City Mod
Thanks Parallellines for the best graphic mod in the game

Features:
- LUT -> Basically a color filter to change the natural true-to-life look of TFWC to film-like of The Matrix without overdoing it
Ray-traced Global Illumination (RTGI) -> basically adding Ambient Occlusion and Indirect Lighting (light bounces from object and sky)
the RTGI is optional you can deactivate it easily (read Bugs)
- Eye Adaptation -> auto adjustment of brightness to reduce overbrightness and lift pitch-black scene

Color Characteristic:
It's inspired by The Matrix, adding shade of cyan-green to make the game more moody, more dystopian-like, but at the same time not overdoing it and make red more vivid too (skin is more vivid now), it's just a simple color filter.
Day is bright, especially if there's white colored object or building
Night is night, and it's dark, because of the extra AO

Before-After images provided.

How To Install:
  • Install The Fall of Windy City (and all mods recommended by it)
  • Ensure you don't already have Reshade in the game folder, if it exist clean it first
  • Download this mod
  • Extract it to the bin folder where the watch_dogs.exe sits
Recommended Game Setting:
All Ultra, just use the setting recommended on the TFWC mod page, but disable the Ambient Occlusion from the game
FPS drop can be big if you keep the RTGI.

Bugs:
RTGI can produces ghosting effect, it's a common problem for RTGI, sometimes it's noticeable when you move your camera or if there's a fog and sometimes it can also be too bright if the source of lights are too close and too many (e.g. inside the L Train)
You can press F10 to disable the Reshade for a while and press it again to enable.
or if you just want to keep the color filter effect and turn off the RTGI, press Home and uncheck RTGI
