1 - Download the mod installer and extract it somewhere
2 - Download the mod you want to use, for example the Natural & Realistic mod, then download the "loose files" version of another mod such as Living_City so that you can merge it with the former easily
3 - Get the .dat and .fat files from the Natural & Realistic mod, move them to the "bin" folder inside the disrupt folder and then drag and drop the .dat file to "Gibbed.Disrupt.Unpack.exe", wait for it to unpack everything, it might take a while. Once its done you'll have a folder called "patch_unpack"
4 - Go to the Living_City mod folder, open the the "REQUIRED_MOD_FILES" folder and then the "patch" folder inside of it. Grab the contents from it and move them to the "patch_unpack" folder you have previously acquired from the Natural & Realistic mod .dat file, overwriting everything. At this point you can modify or add anything you wish to your newly created "patch_unpack" folder with the content from both mods. I for example, like to delete the "cameracontext.lib" file in patch_unpack\generated\databases\generic\ that comes with the Natural & Realistic mod so that the running camera FOV is unaltered (that way it stays close to the character while he's running like in the vanilla game instead of zooming out). I also like to add the "Profiler DoF Mod" by The_Silver (you can find it here in the forum) so that the DoF effect is always present whevener the profiler is being used (if DoF is enabled in the graphical settings)
5 - Now rename that "patch_unpack" folder back to just "patch", drag and drop it to "Gibbed.Disrupt.Pack.exe" and wait for it to pack everything back into a .dat file (plus the automatically generated .fat file that comes with it)
6 - Now you have the .dat and .fat files with your custom merged content ready to use, you just have to grab and move them to Watch_Dogs\data_win64, you may want to backup the original .dat and .fat files before doing so. And don't forget to put the required "Living_City_MOD_CONFIG.txt" file from the Living_City mod there as well
This is the manual way to extract and combine patches. If you install the XNA 4.0 redistributable the mod installer will work as designed. You just drop the files in the mod folder and click install.
This installer doesn't ruin the game. Some game mods are out of date or not compatible with other mods. Stop blaming the installer for your problems.
try installing 1 mod at a time to see if a particular mod is causing the problem. You can go through the manual process noted below to see if there are files conflicts after you extract and combine the mods. You will notice that certain files have the same dates and time. You want to look for files that have different dates and times to see the conflicts. Combining problematic mods is outside of the scope of explaining here. Look into the modding community or post to the particular mod for help.
Getting this to work in 2024. I spent a good part of my day getting this mod to work.
You need to download and install XNA Redistributable 4.0. Particularly if you see XNANATIVE not found in the error output of the command line for gibbed.disupt.unpack.
You can see the error if you drop down to the command line and run the gibbed.disrupt.unpack.exe patch.dat
Major Problem: Every time I install a mod with this tool, the tool installs the mod without a problem. However, when I launch the game all I get is the main screen animation, without the main menu.
The strange part about this whole thing is that when I go back to the tool and click the revert button, Everything goes back to normal.

If anyone can help me that'd be great!
