About this mod

A work-in-progress overhaul, for my personal use. It combines the effects of a few others, along with my personal touches.

What if Wartales was an Isekai?

A TON of changes you'll find in this mod are carried over from Olto's Mod. The upgrade-all feature has been tinkered with to fix a clothing bug, courtesy of @Oltopeteeh! Not sure if it still works entirely!

What I'm going to describe below is a summary what I've personally included, vandalized, & probably ruined forever!

  • Constitution attribute now adds 2.34 [transport] capacity per point! for scale, in vanilla, it's only 0.3!
(I don't like managing inventory space)
  • Saddlebags & Horsehoe stats revamp, some debuff to bags, some benefits to shoes.
  • Player start revamps, see screenshots for more info on each. Most player starts now have improved class variation!
  • "Volunteer" trait wages are paid 50%, most other mods make it 100% off and... i figure even a volunteer needs some personal cash, doesn't sit right with me to have anyone work totally "free"

  • Willpower attribute caps at 15 in base game, from regular level-up stat changes at least. So instead of waiting around for temporary buffs & items, traits, whatever that can restore your willpower to their full, death defying 15 bonus, i've done away with some critical Willpower debuffs from the start of the game.

  • Depression, now renamed Depressive instead serves as Dexterity debuff. Is this redundant with the other negative trait, "unlucky" which reduces critical hit? yes, sort of. (Don't care?)
  • ...a serious lack of self-confidence, decreased willpower by 1? Not anymore, this party of simps is cucked out of their wages by 1% instead because they don't have the "confidence" to ask for more. This is technically a benefit to you. Again (i don't care!)
  • Hmm. I can't remember, i think something else was changed too regarding willpower debuffs. Oh well, surprises are good for you?

  • Reduced the chances of gaining certain traits like hemophiliac and others things in that category to 1%, other mods decrease this subtlety too. Not enough for me!
  • Long walk bonus now gifts 25% reduction in fatigue stacking! Up from 10% in base game. Probably too much...

  • General Changes to player specialization classes are as follows:

  • Re-arranged specialization order, you'll now find things like sentinel sandwiched in the middle, poisoner, herald, protector. This is simply an aesthetic UI change!
  • All melee classes have at least 2 heavy armor specializations and 2 medium armor specializations, excluding Rogue
    Some class specializations allow for medium armor but a heavy helmet as well, like Barbarian, etc.
  • All classes have weapon variety unlocked at level 2 & 3. 
  • Almost forgot, Ranger is now renamed Rogue.
  • Renamed Archer specialization "Infrantryman" to Skirmisher, which is the original name in the code.
  • Rogues and Archers now can upgrade to medium armor in two specializations. See screenshots for more
  • Every single humanoid class, (probably) now has a bonus attribute of 25 [transport] capacity, so if you have 4 human party members, you're guaranteed to be sitting on an extra 100 [transport] capacity. Every new party member adds another 25 in weight capacity for your inventory! Animals will NOT count the same way.

If just sword/axe/mace is noted, then 1H or 2H can be used.
If only 2H is noted, only 2H can be used. There's no way to separate 1H from 2H yet! Otherwise i'd do it!
And, just incase. For those of you who haven't played much yet, a character that can wear heavy armor can wear everything lighter then that...
So if your character has unlocked heavy armor, they can wear medium & light as well. 

Why did I let some characters have bigger helmets then armor?
Well, why is the sky green? What do you mean it's not?

Take my res.pak and replace your res.pak in the game folder
Backup your original res.pak!

Shoutout to Dorim on discord/nexus!
my mod does not contain anything from Dorim's (yet?) however i'd be lying if i said this author wasn't a huge benefit/resource, i pester them for advice frequently in the discord. pls go to their mod & endorse/kudos this amazing author! Dorim's work is an entirely different direction of mine as they aim to make the game more difficult. Mine should only make it easier, like the isekai life. But i still have a lot to learn from Dorim, and I'm sure you do too, as players & modders looking to enjoy Wartales further!
