Updated colors/sharpness/contrast for Warcraft 3 Reforged. Follow the Install Guide in the Video-Section and enjoy :-).
This mod contains changes to the basic colorsetup to improve visual claritiy with Warcraft III reforged graphics ingame. Units are easier to seperate from the landscape and overall have a more cartoonish look. Designed for Versus-Multiplayer. Read the Installinstructions for ReShade-Filters carefully pls.
This ReShade-Mod is:
- removing grainy texture noise, that distracts the eye.
- creating larger color contrast between landscape and units
- improving and brightening faction colors
- seperated sharplevels of landscape and units
- adding flat but also vidid colorprofile for comiclooks
- improves overall readability ingame during day and especially nighttime.
- designed and tested for Versus-Multiplayer*
* in Singleplayer campaigns are a lot of pronounced colorful fogsettings
used which will sometimes confuse the ReShade setup. Using this Mod is
still possible, but the visual quality can suffer from that depending
on the mapsetting. Main focus is on Multiplayer-PVP where superdense,
colored fogs are not so common. However there is a simple trick, that
can help in this case: do not zoom your camera out too far and the
colors will stay in balance.
New Shaders since Version 4.0ea - update/reinstall ReShade for Fubax and AstryFX-Shaders.

***************** How to install the ReShade/Mod ******************

1. Download ReShade https://reshade.me and follow the setup
2. Download the Warcraft III Reforged Repainted MOD-File here on Nexusmods and place the included *.INI-Files all in your Warcraft
III.exe-directory (not the directory with the warcraft III Launcher.exe)
3. Browse Games/Directories and select the warcraft III.exe (not the warcraft III launcher.exe)
4. Select Direct3D 10/11/12 on Windows
5. Browse for one of the Repainted INI-Files you have placed into your WarcraftIII.exe-directory and select it.
It will automatically select the correct shaders. If this does not work, you can select them by hand:
- AstrayFX
- Fubax
- SweetFX
- ReShade Shaders by DAODAN
- FXShaders
- INSANE-Shaders,
- Color effects by PROD80
- qUINT
- LEGACY
6. Wait until the download is complete. Then you can start Warcraft III.

ReShade-Profiles will add a noticeable extra of GPU-Load* on your system. So be warned.
Shadows and Lightning are eating most performance. Turn them also off for
better/stable FPS. Grass/particles/ Spelleffects /Textures have no signifcant impact.
*tested on Nvidia RTX 4070 12GB / AMD Ryzen 9 7900
Max Details: UHD 50-60 FPS / WQHD 100-120 FPS / FHD 180-200FPS
Min Details (Textures High/Grass high): UHD 65-80 FPS/ WQHD 150-180 FPS / FHD 240 FPS
