Unfortunately, I'm sad to say i cannot fix any of what was mentioned above. What i CAN do is to provide the game with a modern, better quality sound replacement. And that is the purpose of the mod.
What it does / does not
This mod replaces most wav files to better quality ones. Most ambient and sfx sounds were replaced and some UI and footstep sounds were also replaced.
Please note that the sounds provided are not the same sounds with better quality. They are in fact, completely new sounds.
Also, it is out of the scope of the mod to replace weapon sounds, since there is already a great sound mod for that.
If you do not like the new UI and quest notification sounds, remove or rename the folder /sound/interface of this mod.
Plans for the future
This is still a WIP and i'm replacing and tweaking sounds as i play the game.
Change Log
V0.2
> Additional 49 sounds replaced, including some Unofficial Patch specific sounds.
> Two boss sounds replaced, to be more cinematic and meaningful. For instance, a certain huge bat no longer have a flapping sound of a cartoon bat.
Known Issues
I encounter an issue in Downtown, where sometimes (very uncommonly) the game crashes when entering the outdoor (street) area. I'm not sure why, since the sound replacement for that area is totally fine as far as i can tell. Maybe it's an engine or area bug, since it does not happen to any of the other areas that also have ambient sound replacements. If you face this issue, remove or rename the folder /sound/area/downtown of this mod.
Final Remarks
There are two easter eggs for the piano sounds. You can hear the new sounds inside Santa Monica's Main Street apartments (where Mercurio usually is), for instance. I hope you like it.
Happy gaming.
