About this mod

This is an attempt to overhaul the visuals creating darker and more mature atmosphere, perfectly fitting the game about modern vampires.

WHAT'S THIS?

This is a post-processing graphics mod utilizing both ENB Series and ReShade. I created it with an aim to get rid of overbearing greenish tint, desaturate colors and emphasize the gorgeous lighting this game boasts. Actual version is 2.0, it uses the latest version of ReShade with state of-the-art qUINT shaders. Please check the screenshots for details and comparisons.


INSTALLATION:

For v2.0+:
  • Extract .zip file contents into the game installation folder (the same directory as your Vampire.exe)
  • Enjoy!

For v1.0:
  • Extract .zip file contents into the game installation folder (the same directory as your Vampire.exe)
  • Open ReShade.ini and replace every instance (four in total) of this substring  X:\<GAME FOLDER PATH>\ with your path to the game installation folder. For example, if you have the game installed here: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Vampire - The Masquerade Bloodlines\ then the aforementioned substring should look like this: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Vampire - The Masquerade Bloodlines\ . Be careful not to delete any following text.
  • Enjoy!


TIPS & TRIVIA:


  • You can take .png screenshots retaining all the effects with Print Screen key. They will be saved into the game installation folder.
  • You can disable/enable ENB by pressing Shift+F12 key combination and disable/enable ReShade by pressing Scroll Lock key.
  • This preset uses SMAA so additional antialiasing not needed. 
  • Black outlines of ambient occlusion effect will be slightly noticeable through HUD and nearby fog/smoke. This is not a bug
  • Version 2.0+ has subtle distant DOF which is turned on by default but can be disabled/reenabled with Num / key. It also has autofocus so in dialogs it's gonna shift closer to the camera providing nice cinematic look.
  • If you wish to upgrade to the new version simply remove reshade-shaders folder from the game
    installation folder and extract new version .zip file contents there (overwrite files when prompted).
