As a successor to my language filter modification for Pillars of Eternity (found here), the Tyranny Language Filter seeks to remove the profanity found in the base game without tampering with the spirit and intent of the original dialogue.

As of Version 0.4, there is no editing to the game's voice acting assets due to not being able to find/edit the voice over files. Support for voice acting may be added in later releases. Until then, you will just need to mute the game's voice volume.

One of the things that got me into modding in the first place was the idea that your experience with a game can be completely unique to anyone else's. You can experience the game in a way that fits your own personal tastes and interests. You might choose to expand the game, or streamline it for a more specific purpose. You might make cosmetic changes, rebalances, or complete overhauls to the original game. With these ideas in mind, I set out to create a mod for those who desire to play Tyranny without the profanity that occasionally appears in the text and voice-overs. This mod is a work in progress, and will be updated from time to time.

Installation/Uninstallation
To install the Tyranny Language filter, download the mod and place the provided Data folder in your main game folder (i.e .../steam/steamapps/common/Pillars of Eternity). The fastest way I can think of to uninstall the mod is to erase the following folders and then validate the installation of the game to retrieve the original voice and text files.

.../Data/data/exported/localized/en/text/conversations

I get that some people will not like this mod due to the particular way it changes the game. If that is the case, remember this cardinal rule of modding:

"If you don't want it in your game, don't install it"

Special Thanks to:
-Obsidian Entertainment, for creating Tyranny
-Sevrick, for showing me that mods like this could be done and could be done well (see his excellent mods for Fallout 3, New Vegas, and 4).
-Nexus mods, for giving me a platform to share this on.
-The creators of Notepad, the tool I used to make these edits.
