About this mod

A short (around 9 waves) but very hard preset I've made. This mod is still WIP, which is why the first wave is a bunch of weak units from another preset (to allow you to get money)

Not really a "mod", as it doesn't modify anything about the game. I just kinda had this idea floating around, with a decent chunk of the units already created, and just figured i'd share it with whomever saw it here.

The corrupted Realms where fist discovered by H.S.U 3 "Tunnel Rats", upon their investigation of a cave system with an unusual amount of disappearances linked to it.

there are currently four factions, with a fifth on the way.

The Imperial Remnant

The Imperial Remnants reside in the second realm of The Corrupted Realms, known as “The Citadel”. The Citadel is a vast and sprawling urban city in a severe state of disrepair, with a large and imposing Structure in the center of it (literally just the citadel from HL2). The city itself takes on the appearance of an incredibly war-torn and broken city, and whilst no anomalous hazards or entities are present within this realm, various environmental hazards exist, as well as traps that have been laid by the Imperial Remnants. The Citadel at the center of the city possess tech far beyond what humanity is currently capable of producing, and is suspected to be alien in nature. The Imperial Remnants are a heavily militaristic group of cultists (although, they do not seem to realize they are under control of the entity at the center of the corrupted realms, who is to be referred to as E-100), organized much like the current U.S military, but incorporating a vast amount of tactics from other armies, and possessing no qualms about the use of chemical or biological weapons. They believe themselves to be the remnants of a once galaxy wide empire that has since collapsed. While H.S.U 7 has gained a foothold within the outer limits of the city, The Imperial Remnants are proving to be incredibly resilient, constantly ambushing and destroying patrols and supply convoy’s sent from F.O.B Alpha established in the first corrupted realm, and largely using guerilla tactics. However, unlike their counterparts in the later realms, it is possible to sneak into the Citadel and enter The White, although groups larger than three have consistently been caught.


The Frostbitten 

The Frostbitten reside within the third world of the corrupted realms. A vast, empty, and blisteringly cold snowy expanse known simply as, "The white". They are highly efficient and brutal killers, and use the nature of their environment to help in the cleansing of their land from outside influence. At the far end of this realm lies the abandoned and ruined husk of a former ICBM missile silo belonging to an unknown government entity. The Frostbitten believe themselves to have been tasked by the aforementioned unknown government entity to prevent anyone and anything from entering the silo at all costs. Residing deep within the silo lays the entrance to the Azure deep


Guardians of the Deep

 a force of unknown size, residing in the fourth realm within The Corrupted Realms, known as The Azure Deep. They are a fanatical and zealous group, fighting with a crazed ferocity and an almost hive-mind-like coordination. appearing to believe themselves to be the chosen of E-100. The Azure Deep itself is the fourth, and second most dangerous realm of the corrupted realms. It is a seemingly endless expanse, composed mainly of a blue void, devoid of any shading, other colors, or patterns, making it difficult and confusing to navigate. Often having severe effects on one's mental state. littered with the fragmented pieces of broken realities and shattered worlds. Infested with unknown and extremely hostile entities. It is an incredibly unstable realm, with patches of ground often having no collisions whatsoever, lacking gravity, or simply not existing at all. Buildings and objects are known to erratically shift and distort. Sections of land have also been known to suddenly vanish, taking those within it to an unknown fate, and large portions are known to show extreme non-euclidean nature, having severely degrading effects on one's mental state 


The Malignant

The Malignant reside in the fifth and final realm of The Corrupted Realms, Known simply as “The Broken”. The Broken is a blighted and hellish land, the air itself is extremely toxic and causes severe hallucinations and eventually death or insanity. The land is incredibly unstable, perpetually shifting, changing, collapsing, or fading out of existence. The Realm itself bears the appearance of a no-man's land, akin to those found between the trenches of WW1, with the added addition of the sky itself being a blood red, and the land shrouded in a heavy red mist. Extreme temperatures have also been recorded within the broken, with the average temperature resting around 135 degrees Fahrenheit, however, the temperature has been known to  shift radically and swiftly, with the highest recorded temperature being 225 degrees Fahrenheit, and the lowest recorded temperature being -195 degrees Fahrenheit. The Broken is filled with Numerous severe cognitohazards and undocumented and extremely hostile entities, and while evidence suggests they are able to be killed, no operatives who have survived long enough to encounter an entity have been able to defeat one. At the center of The Broken, resides an immense black tower, this tower is heavily guarded by The Malignant, and any operatives who have been able to reach it are KIA/MIA. The exit for this realm is unknown, and many operatives question if one exists at all
