Author notes
no documentation. i have nothing to say here. if this solution don't work for you, then you likely don't have the same issue than i had.
if it does, then i'm happy that i helped someone.
also, i posted this because i did not find this solution anywhere else. so i am likely one of the firsts to put my finger on this one.

this is not a mod because there are no file to download this is a hint to help people with compatibility problem on window 10
if you decide to play titan quest anyversary edition on window 10 there are chances that it will hang at a black screen . and after a while an error message will pop up and say '' fatal error : could not initiate engine'' or something like that.
it doesnt mater if you re-install the game, delete your save, delete the .INI file. delete all the movie video, try windowed mode , switch between the gog version, steam version or boxed version, or even if you format all your hard drive and re-install everything. it will still does that so dont bother.
the solution for that particular issue is to go into compatibility and chose 'compatibility mode for window 7' and 'run as administrator'
i have the latest version of the gog edition of TTAE under the latest version of window 10 family 64-bit (post creator update latest version as of june 2018) and nvidia GTX 1060 latest june 2018 driver.
im not saying that its gonna work for other compatibility problem. but it should work for people in similar situation than me.
