Here is the eighth and final part of my 'Ultimate Edition' video tutorial series aimed at people who are new to modding but want to learn. In this video I cover what to do if and when things go wrong.

Gopher - I've been modding FNV for litterally years now. Around the half-way mark, when I thought I was pretty good at this, I ran into your videos. The information you give in this series is invaluable and I now reccomend to my friends that if youre going to do any kind of modding, watch these first!

The most important thing you talk about (and the most overlooked I think) is FNV EDIT. This program, the way I look at it, is what will eventually allow you to load MORE mods when you end up with so many that they inevitably conflict. By using the "Merge Patch" feature you taught me, I have been able to do the unthinkable, such as loading multible mods that edit leveled lists for weapons and vendors...

I am at the point now where I am really interested in using programs to build my own mods, so any more info on that would be fantastic. I did watch the "make our own weapons video" that points to other videos which are great but I feel you have a knack for explaining things in detail and so would love to see videos by you concerning advanced FNV EDIT topics or even other programs like nifskope and the GECK.

Anyway, cheers and thanks again. My game is simply amazing and much of that creit goes to you, especially since I would have probably never known about FNV EDIT... I do have another question or two:

One is, I noticed in your INI's that you have dificulty set to (4). On my game (With hardcore mode) it is set to (2). Will simply raising this number increase my games dificulty or is that in conjunction with a certain MOD?

Finally, I noticed you have no edits in your INI involving Threading ability for multicore processors. I understand that by default the Chaos engine does not utilize Multi-Core Processors or threading, but Ive learned some where on here that by adding a few lines of code to the INI, you can allow the game to take advantage of this hardware - kind of like the 4GB loader for increased RAM utilization. I implemented this "multi-core code" and I do see a noticable difference in my games flow and framerate. Before using it, my gamw would sit around 30-40FPS in large outdoor environments - not to good. After editiing the INI for threading, I now stay at 60FPS almost constantly... (Im using a 590GTX) A HUGE diference AND, this isthe best part, I can now install MORE mods due to overcomming this bottleneck (the OJO BUENO textures are superb but really thrashed my FPS and load times esspecially around NOVAC...It seems that AWOP also contributed to this problem with all the extra NPC's and I didnt want to use the "nonpc's" patch because I wanted to experience the mod in its entirety...)

If you didnt know about this, I hope its some useful info I could give back for all the information Ive acquired through your vids. Have you ever done a tutorial on some good ways to capture gameplay? I saw an icon on your desktop - "VegasMovieStudio?"
