About this mod
If you wanted to do a new playthrough of The Saboteur, but aren't a big fan of grinding for skills granted by perk challenges, contraband to purchase, more powerful equipment and vehicle search/delivery, but want to purely enjoy the vast side content and do story missions, this save game can provide you that satisfaction.
- Permissions and credits
This save game includes:
-99.999 contraband, which is more than enough to cover ammo resupply, additional map purchases, and new weapon purchases given by story progression. In addition to this amount, you will be getting plenty of contraband as well, just by progressing through the game;
-all weapons available at the beginning of the game are bought and fully loaded. I have tried my hardest to find a way to unlock the weapons you get through story completion later in the game, but that is just not possible. Sean is equipped with a silent pistol and a terror sniper rifle at the moment, but you're free to choose any weapon from the arms dealer that you desire. Once you do unlock new weapons through story progression, you will have more than enough contraband to purchase them;
-all weapon upgrades have been purchased;
-all available maps which unlock Nazi installation locations around the map have been bought, though as with the weapons, you will unlock more maps as you play the game so you will be able to buy them with ease from the weapon shop;
-all vehicles which are available to the player have been put in the garage, which includes all civilian vehicles (as well as the Palomino Sedanca, the DLC exclusive limousine), all Nazi Vehicles and all racecars which have a spawn location. Aurora hasn't been collected yet due to being locked behind a story mission, while the remaining three racecars are unlocked through completing the unavoidable racing perks. If you plan to 100% this game using this starter save, the racing perks are something you'll definitely acquire. All tanks and APC's have unfortunately been left uncollected due to the fact that you can't store heavy vehicles in the garage until you have collected all civilian and race cars. Only after you acquire the remaining 4 racecars, you will be able to get all heavy vehicles, which is a much smaller grind to do than to collect the majority of civilian and Nazi vehicles, as they all have a spawn location on the map.
-all perks are acquired, except for the ones which are locked behind story missions and side content:
-the 2nd sabotage perk requires a certain amount of Nazi towers blown up, I didn't want to do that as that is something you will naturally do as you progress the game, and is the very same content I wanted to replay with the help of this starter save;
-the 3rd sabotage perk requires 4 bridges blown up, this activity is locked behind story progression;
-1st, 2nd and 3rd racing perk are naturally completed as you complete the races you go through the game, that's when you'll unlock the 3/4 racecars for the garage;
-the 3rd mechanic perk requires all vehicles but the heavy ones to be delivered to the garage, the reason why that perk isn't acquired is explained in the vehicle section above;
-the 3rd evasion perk requires you to escape an alarm level 5, this level isn't available at the beginning of the game so once you do unlock it through story progression, you will be able to complete it;
The 3rd perk which I have acquired through the shop purchase is the 3rd brawling perk which requires you to assassinate 5 Nazi generals stealthily. I didn't decide to purchase that one because it was difficult (I will personally assassinate them all stealthily on every playthrough of mine), but because it is a missable perk some people could miss out on by accident, since Nazi generals don't respawn once you kill them.
The directory in which you place this save game is located at: Windows (C:) > Users > “your username” > Documents > My Games > The Saboteur > SaveGames. Before that, extract it with programs such as WinRAR or 7zip. This is the best new game plus starter save of this game you can find on the internet, so you can finally enjoy installation destruction and awesome story without worrying about the power grind.
