v2.0 :New editions.  3x - 15x difficulties.   I'm playing 10x now and its great, but may want higher. 
v2.1: Improved Scaling!  Now instead of a linear multiplier like before, the difficulty Scales with your level. Lvl 10 is when it hits full, to let you get oriented!

The damage of weapons compared to enemy HP makes combat too easy and not fun to me.  So I have scaled up enemy HP by % of Normal difficulty. 
**The actual HP increase isn't multiplied by 5 or 10  of the vanilla HP, it's scaled off the Normal base numbers. It's more like 3.3x and 6.6x respectively (5x/10x)

  HP scaling now modifies both Hard and Supernova (SN) Difficulty. 

 Difficulty_ Hard + SN - 3x HP .pak
 Difficulty_ Hard + SN - 5x HP .pak
 Difficulty_ Hard + SN - 7.5x HP .pak
 Difficulty_ Hard + SN - 10x HP .pak 
 Difficulty_ Hard + SN - 15x HP .pak 


&   When facing a lone or 2 mob, you might think they're still too easy, depending on which mods you installed.. but when you hit larger packs you will notice it gets much harder..  especially the harder type enemies. On 15x, some enemy packs will be nearly impossible.  On the early worlds, 10x might seem not enough still, but when you get to other worlds, the enemies will be stronger. So you might even want to start higher, then go down a bit if you struggle too much.
Don't let the pictures scare you. In this save, my main weapons are doing around 500+ DPS (vanilla) easily (Not including Critical damage, which is 200% more...), so the 5x mod is still pretty easy, a common outlaw dies in 1-2 seconds, Outlaw leader dies in 2-4..  Go for 10x, if you want a challenge!  or try 15x!

Use the AI tweak or DMG scaling if you don't feel your life is threatened enough.

I recommend it for anything less than 10xHP.  But you get to decide how you want to play.  I was close to including them inside the main mods, but I decided to let people choose for themselves.

*  New separated Ammo paks makes ammo a bit less prevalent. 
Also options to lower player damage
HD_++_Less_ammo                               - is for all difficulties and scales.
HD_++_Less_ammo/Dmg_for_1x_3x   
- if playing on vanilla or 3x, but need more challenge.    ~40% less player dmg
HD_++_Less_ammo/Dmg_for_5x   
- use with 5x HP if you want (or any diff)                               ~25% less player dmg

Each pak works on Hard and SN.  None of these are locked to a certain 1x/3x/5x etc, just a recommendation.  Can use any with any difficulty.


More damage output from enemies:
In general, enemies with more HP will be able to inflict more damage over time.  But I have created a Damage Scaling mod also, for your pleasure, that increases Enemy damage by 20% or 35%. 

The DMG buff mod only works with HARD difficulty. 
 Diff_Hard DMG +20.pak 
 Diff_Hard DMG +35.pak 

 

MAIN MOD AND ALL OPTIONAL MODS MAY BE USED TOGETHER!  (one of each) 



###   INSTALLATION:  Extract first, then put the .pak files of your careful choosing into your PAK game folder, BUT, create a folder inside the PAK folder, named " ~mods ".  yes, include the tilde. Put all mods in this folder.

But look at that Mega Raptidon or Behemoth on 10x..!   Finally, a challenge.  You might need that element advantage!  Might need a companion ability!  Might need to dodge and cover and use a tactic!  or RUN!  and pop a chem or 3!  or maybe even shoot up an Adreno heal for once!  My goodness, no!  that sounds hard!   (have you even noticed all those drugs?  what kind of Spacer are you..) Finally, a challenge.
I might even take my companions off passive for such a fight.. we'll see!   What will you do?! 
(yes, I've killed them all already and they're fun!  -multiple times with various ranged weapons and melee for testing)
!!   Don't be afraid of dying!  I never died in vanilla, never felt threatened.  Now some enemy packs might kill me several times!  (like heavy armored Marauders!)  cool!  I'm not afraid of dying in an ARPG.. hah.  Learn and improve your tactics.  And SAVE more often!

Reason for mod is that combat feels too short and easy.  I want a more engaging and challenging experience, to use what's available to us instead of ignoring all that stuff.  I want to have to use chems and abilities sometimes or often (which I was never using). Companion abilities.  Moving and dodging. Right now you can just stand still and all enemies fall down dead seconds later. 
This isn't an FPS shooter like Call of Duty, this is an ActionRPG..  a fantasy game, no need for every lame reality.  Enemies shouldn't die instantly when you shoot them.. it takes the fun and challenge right out of it.  What's the point of easy combat? The AI isn't good enough for it. FPS enemies tend to die quicker because combat is more fast-paced and there's enemies everywhere.  ARPG's don't have that. There's few enemies and you're dragging a duffel bag full of ammo around...   
But to each their own, mod the game how you like it. That's what I'm doing.
