This configuration for DOSBbox sets all settings except for cycles to their default values to play The Elder Scrolls: Arena at default values.

This is configuration file for the latest version of DOSBox for running The Elder Scrolls Arena, this is meant for a lower resolution and detail (draw distance).
The default detail (draw distance) for the game is four, this mod makes it run smoothly in most areas without going too fast when it matters. Mages Guilds and some larger areas might run slower but if I were to increase it, then any smaller areas would run so fast as to be impossible to navigate normally with npcs running by rather fast.

The above files have text files identical to each other but some people might not have the config file working for reasons I do not understand myself. If this is the case and you cannot open the bat file, just copy the config file's contents or make a copy and change the format from '.config' to '.bat'
