About this mod
Project Valkyrie Core is a total conversion mod based on the setting of Battle Action Harem Highschool Side Character Quest by Avalanche. It seeks to leverage the unique features and moddability of Terra Invicta’s engine to create a new and enhanced game experience.

On 17 December 2012, fragments of a mysterious object from space struck Earth’s surface. The result was a cataclysm beyond anything humanity had experienced prior. Enormous tsunamis unleashed by impacts in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans engulfed coastlines and drowned cities; automated nuclear retaliation systems duly followed orders to ensure the end of the world. The simultaneous destruction of America, Europe, and Russia had knock-on effects on the global order; the few nations which avoided collapse were left to deal with the endless waves of refugees.
It is now 31 October 2025. Thirteen years have passed since Impact. In that time, humanity has not only survived: it has changed. All across the globe, new strains of thought are beginning to evolve, coalescing into a handful of individuals. They now rise to lead new factions which strive to rise above Impact and bring humanity into the future – whatever that future may be.

Project Valkyrie Core is a total conversion mod based on the setting of Battle Action Harem Highschool Side Character Quest by Avalanche. It seeks to leverage the unique features and moddability of Terra Invicta’s engine to create a new and enhanced game experience.
Major features of the mod:
- New Factions: Five all-new factions replacing the vanilla seven. Each faction has unique bonuses and penalties. So far, the Enlighten faction is playable with a complete storyline of 24,000 words.
- New Tech Tree: All-new global tech tree and faction projects.
- Arcologies: Repurposed habs which can be built in regions on Earth. Modules will house populations and affect the stats of their host nations.
- Migration: Regional populations are split into Citizens, Refugees, and Arcology Dwellers. Refugees are created by wars and disasters; they will attempt to migrate to nicer regions over time.
- Major National Policies: Special options for the Set National Policy mission which allow factions to set a nation’s long-term policies on issues such as taxation, refugees, conscription, nuclear weapons, trade, and information control.
- Expanded Regional Facilities: External Power provides extra Power to Arcologies in the region. Space Defenses are rebranded to Fortifications, do not prevent nuclear strikes (but still reduce their effect), now provide military bonuses, and can be built multiple times per region.
- Rebellions: Nations with high Unrest will have rebels spawn and attempt to secede or overthrow the government. Can be combated (or supported) by councillors and armies. Revolutions no longer occur at 10 Unrest.
- Environment: Each region tracks an environmental integrity value, which is affected by global temperatures. Global warming no longer damages GDP. Nuclear fallout is now tracked and dissipates over time.
- New Army Types: Valkyrie Groups are built at Arcologies, have low HP and can’t occupy regions, but move quickly and are equipped with a rapidly regenerating force field, encouraging hit and run tactics. Internal Armies are built automatically by nations as an autonomous backup line of defense. Strategic Bombers can be used to bombard enemy regions to inflict Attrition.
- Army Experience: Armies accumulate XP from combat and Arcology modules, which improves their combat effectiveness at higher ranks.
- Councillors: The vanilla councillor professions are replaced with 12 new classes based on anime character archetypes. Councillors have a small chance to become Valkyries, granting access to new trait lines with significant bonuses. Councillors now have HP: the default maximum is 1, and councillors die when their HP falls below 0.
- United Nations: Factions may propose and vote on resolutions after the requisite tech is researched.
- The Antagonists: An all-new alien faction dedicated to the extermination of all humanity.

Additionally, the mod replaces the vanilla councillor portraits with the contents of Tayta’s Anime Councillors, and includes a selection of soundtracks from various anime and visual novels.
Please note that this is an open beta release of the mod. Many features are still being worked on and have yet to be implemented. The space layer is NOT currently playable in this mod: this will be the next focus of development after this release.

This mod uses BepInEx and MonoMod to function. A copy of these utilities is included with the mod’s contents, as well as a full set of installation instructions under “README.pdf”. You will need to follow these instructions in order to play the mod.
