About this mod
The mod you've all been waiting for is finally here! Welcome to Subnautica Pets BZ! Enjoy the company of cute, cuddly creatures in your bases. You can choose from a Pengling Baby, Pengling Adult, Snowstalker Baby, Pinnicarid or Trivalve - the choice is yours! Pick a name, spawn the pet, and enjoy the company in your underwater lair!

IMPORTANT: The latest version of this mod has been rewritten to remove the need for QModManager or SML Helper. The mod does require "BepInEx", which can be installed for both Subnautica and Below Zero from the following source: BepInEx Subnautica Pack. This mod should be installed in the BepInEx\plugins folder.
Installing the BepInEx configuration manager plugin will allow you to configure this mod. Please see here for details: BepInEx Configuration Manager Plugin. With this installed, press F1 to open the settings. Alternatively, tweak the config file in BepInEx/config. Hope you enjoy it!!!
Subnautica Pets BZ!
Finally, you can enjoy the company of a cute, fuzzy little scampering pet in your bases in Subnautica Below Zero!
Features:
- Choose from one of five snugglesome pets:
- Snowstalker Baby.
- Pengling Adult.
- Pengling Baby.
- Trivalve (Blue and Gold).
- Pinnicarid.
- Spawn in any indoor location, above ground or underwater.
- Choose from a selection of names to personalise each pet.
- Watch the little critters scurry around your base, walking, jumping and sleeping.
- Approach your pet to interact and watch its reaction. Left-click a pet to play a random animation.
- Pet names and locations are saved when you save your game, so they'll always be there to welcome you back at base!
How it works:
- Set up the spawning options in the Pause > Options > Mods menu.
- Configure your choice of "Spawn Key". The default is <End>.
- Control the maximum number of pets per base via the slider, to stop you from becoming an instant crazy Snowstalker lady.
When you're ready for some loving company, simply:
- Configure your chosen pet through the Pause > Options > Mods menu.
- Choose your type of pet and pick a name and unpause.
- Now point where you want your pet to appear, and hit the "Spawn Key"!
Warning:
- A Subnautica Pet is for life, not just for Christmas!
- Pets are clumsy and may get stuck. Right-click a pet to “beckon” them, and immediately move backwards. The Pet will move to your position.
- If you get really sick of having to clean up after filthy pets, CTRL + k will immediately put every spawned pet out of its misery. Use with caution
