About this mod

Adds additional, hand-placed leviathan spawns to the game, with a menu to allow for tweaking spawn intensity and additional randomness.

Changelogs
This mod seeks to reintroduce the same terror you got from your first playthrough of Subnautica by adding new leviathan spawn locations. This mod adds new spawns on top of the preexisting ones in-game. Each of these coordinates has been hand-picked to ensure the spawns are lore friendly, such as additional ghost leviathans spawning in deeper and darker areas, and also to ensure spawns aren't created inside terrain or static objects.

Mod Options

This mod works by selecting, at random, a certain number of spawns from a large list of possible spawn locations, based on the options set by the player in the mod options menu.
These options are as follows:
  • Reaper Spawn Intensity - Defines intensity of additional reaper leviathan spawns to add to the game. For example, a value of 1 will add 3 spawns, whilst a value of 6 will add 23 spawns. A value of 0 will add no additional reaper leviathans spawns to game.
  • Ghost Spawn Intensity - Defines intensity of additional ghost leviathan spawns to add to the game. For example, a value of 1 will add roughly 2 spawns, whilst a value of 6 will add roughly 14 spawns. A value of 0 will add no additional ghost leviathans spawns to game.
  • Variable Spawns - By default, a static number of spawns will be added to the world. By selecting this, that amount could be anywhere from 2 more to 2 less than expected, adding some variability on creation. For example, this could result in 1 less Reaper Leviathan being spawned, and 2 more Ghost Leviathans being spawned.

Commands

> coordwarp x
A command which teleports the player to the coordinates of a leviathan, where 'x' is the index of the leviathan spawned (from 1 to however many were spawned). For example, if the user wanted to teleport to the first leviathan spawned in the list, they would type coordwarp 1.
This will teleport the player to the exact coordinates the leviathan spawned at, so fair warning if in survival, where the leviathan is likely to be aggressive.

Known Issues

Due to limitations with modded Subnautica that I am unable to fix beyond what I've managed so far, there are some directions you should follow when using this mod; these instructions can also be found in the attached 'readme' file that came with the mod download.

When using this mod, please remember to restart your game after creating or loading a save-file with additional leviathans added with this mod, before loading or creating another save-file. Failure to do so will result in any additional leviathans added to the first save-file to duplicate to the second; these will be permanent if the game is saved from that point forward.
If you want to use a save-file but don't want additional leviathans added, you don't have to remove this mod; just set both the Reaper Spawn Intensity and the Ghost Spawn Intensity to 0, and the mod will skip over adding any additional leviathans to your save-file.

Installation

To install the mod, simply:
  • Navigate to the Files tab and download the latest version.
  • Place the .zip file into the BepInEx folder; filepath should like something like:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\BepInEx
  • Extract the .zip file and, if asked, allow to overwrite the plugins folder.
  • Start the game and navigate to the options menu and find "More Leviathan Spawns" options, to confirm the mod is installed.
  • Enjoy!

Uninstalling the mod will not remove any leviathans that have been spawned in since saving, so be mindful which save you load with this mod installed.

Recommendations

With this mod potentially adding 37 more leviathans to your world, you may see more leviathans clipping through the world, as they sadly do even without mods. If your PC is not already having any trouble running Subnautica, I would highly recommend the Solid Terrain mod by MrPurple6411, as it attempts to increase the "terrain collision loading distance by about 4-5x", which should help stop any leviathans, additional or otherwise, from clipping into the world.

Legacy Version

If you wish to install this mod for Legacy versions before 2.0, please refer to the original mod page. Do note however that bugs solved in later versions may still be present in older versions.
