Actually this is still on a very early state. Still far far away from perfect.
But why I've uploaded in here?
Well, I've just wanna let my friends in here to know, that I won't let them down. As many friends asking me to create cats mod referred to their lovely cat or their loss beloved cat (I'm sorry for that) from their real-life into a Stray character mod. But I have to refused some of them, because their cat fur was hardly to reproduced.
Actually I'm not 100% refused your request, I've just need more time to learn how to create "Soft Fur" cat kinds like that.I mean in Stray, because it should be done though a mod. If its not a mod, then I believe it's so easy create it with Unreal Engine with our own fur method and shaders to make it more realistic/believable.
** Hmm, I'm starting to think to make an interactive VR game; so we can pet our cats or dogs in virtual world, it's gonna fun...isn't it? =))
Stray developer team were using GFur PRO to growing cat fur. Too bad I don't have budget to buy the license (GFur Pro is not cheap for me, as I should saving some of my tiny money to purchase Spider-man Remastered for PC on this month. lol!! ).
Then I decided to give a try to making soft fur mod for Stray based on Blender Hair groom process, and I called as BFur ~ Blender Fur : a GFur parody made by myself =)) .
For using this method with Stray I have to converted all splines from Blender hair particle to huge number of card boards meshes. Of course this method will taxes more GPU performance as opposite with GFur that using spline and interpolation (which is more efficient in term of performance).
But advantage of BFur is easier to manage (add fur to the part of your cat body as you like it) and also easier to comb. =))
You can using this demo cat as a proof concept. Please be patience until I have time to finished it as a complete character mod (then you can extract it, feel free to edit the related fur textures to matching to your cat in real-life).
