Description

Speedshard is now seperated into 6 standalone submodules since MSL can allow to use multiple mods simultaneously !
That being said, Speedshard is now complete and will only be updated if a bug is discovered. The main difference between these submodules and the old Speedshard is that I've removed the extra slot bar since you can now play with both Speedshard and UI+.

Tired of spending hours to build your character and wanting to quit before testing all tree skills ?
This mod is an attempt to reduce player time to reach late game content.
For more information, there are links in the Files tab for each submodules.

Installation

Since this mod was made through MSL, you first need to install it and then patching the game with it.
You can follow the official installation guide on the MSL documentation.

A video was made by Nylux to show how to install a mod with MSL (Neoconsole in this case), if you prefer a video guide.

Installing MSL

  • Download the latest release of MSL.
  • Unzip it.
  • Move the ModShard.dll file to your Stoneshard folder.
  • (Optional) Rename the data.win file in the Stoneshard folder with an other name so you'll have a backup if something went wrong.

Using MSL

  • Download the wanted submodules on github or here on NexusMod.
  • Move the .sml in the MSL/Mods folder.
  • Run ModShardLauncher.exe.
  • Click on the anvil icon on the leftside.
  • Click on the folder icon on the topside. A dialog box should pop up.
  • Select the .win file in the Stoneshard folder (data.win if you didn't rename it).
  • Enable the mods you want by checking the Enable box.
  • Click the floppy disk icon on the topside. A dialog box should pop up.
  • In this dialog box, create a new .win file and save (data.win if you didn't rename it).
  • Move any .de2 files you found in the Stoneshard/dialogs folder and any .ini files you found in the Stoneshard folder.

You can now play the game with the modded version !

Troubleshooting

If you encountered some troubles while trying to patch your game, first check if you move the ModShard.dll in the Stoneshard folder and the .de2/.ini files in the right folder.

Then you can contact me on Discord, and send me the latest log file found in MSL/logs.

INI file tutorial
The ini files you can found in the archive of the mod is used to customize submodules of Speedshard. Keep in mind values are read when loading the game, so you can't just change values during a game, you'll need to restart Stoneshard.

For speedshard.ini:
  • default_gamespeed: determines the default in-game speed the game is running (40fps by default)
  • accelerated_gamespeed: determines the in-game speed when pressing F4. At 160, it runs 4X faster than default, you can adjust this value if you want a different speed (120 = 3X than default, 200 = 5X than default)
  • reputation_modifier: at 3, the reputation gained is multiplied by 3
  • water_container_modifier: a multiplicative modifier to increase (or decrease if you want) the amount of water held by some containers
  • campbed_despawn_days: the number of days before a campbed auto despawned
  • hostile_spawnrate_by_level_modifier: determines how many levels before each map adds an other garanteed hostile encounter. At 5, every 5 levels, you will encounter one more group of units (type of units unchanged). If too low, performance issue can emerge.
  • neutral_spawnrate_by_level_modifier: same as before but for neutral creatures.
  • xp_by_level_modifier: the amount of xp (times your current level) needed to level-up, the lesser the faster you will level-up, vanilla is 500
  • max_level: self-explanatory
  • interval_level_extra_ap: each X level you will be granted an extra ap. If value = 1, you will have 2 ap at each level up (side note: can make the game quickly boring)
  • interval_level_extra_sp: each X level you will be granted an extra sp. If value = 1, you will have 2 sp at each level up (side note: can make the game quickly boring)
  • extra_sp_ap_at_creation: if 1, a new character will start with 1 ap and 3 sp, else 0 vanilla values
  • quicksave_enable: if 1, quicksave is enable by F5
  • campbed_not_destroyed: if 1, campbed are not destroyed on used

For speedshard_moneydungeon.ini:
  • dungeon_reset_modifier: the amount of days before a dungeon is reset, vanilla is 6
  • secret_room_chance: chance of a secret room to appear in a dungeon, vanilla = 5.
  • contract_money_modifier: multiplier of money received at the end of contract, vanilla = 1
  • number_room_max: dungeon generation, max limit of room
  • number_room_min: dungeon generation, min limit of room
  • number_chest_max: dungeon generation, max limit of chest
  • number_chest_min: dungeon generation, min limit of chest
  • gold_multiplier, multiplies gold owned by every npc

For speedshard_sprint.ini:
  • tiles_by_turn: the amount of tiles your character can walk by in one turn while being out of combat. Useful to conserve buffs while crossing huge sections of the map
