About this mod
A very simple mod that I created to solve an often frustrating and sometimes hard to detect issue relating to lag, stuttering, and the in-game music player. If you have weird, periodical, or seemingly random lag and stuttering issues then please, TRY THIS MOD!

Hey there, are you obsessed with Stellaris? Do you play it every day? Are you a new or veteran player? If you're bothering to read any of this then I'd bet my britches you have experienced some kind of lag issue while playing.
Maybe your PC is a shitbox. Maybe you need a driver update. That I can't help with...sorry.
But if you know damn well your PC should be able to run this game, 1440p max settings, and you're having trouble then maybe I can help you.
Tell me if this sounds familiar :
You launch the game. That launches the launcher. You launch the game, utilizing the launcher this time. The game launches.
You start playing. It's great, it's working, yippee.
BUT WAIT!
About, oh I dunno, 5-10 minutes into your session some weird shit starts happening. When you move the camera around there's this periodical stutter. If you zoom in too much the music gets choppy and there's noticeable lag. Sometimes it seems like the mouse's hitbox is off, or clicks don't register.
You tough it out because, let's face it, you have spent WAY too much money on DLC for this damn game to run like crap, and miraculously the problem goes away after a while.
Later in the same session I'm sure the lag returns with a vengeance, so much so that you either just save and quit, attempt in vain to change the graphics settings, or restart your game. Only for the issue to crop back up again, again and again and again. Every time you play.
It seems completely random, and you think you have tried everything. But if what I am describing sounds like your situation, then I am happy to offer you a potential fix.
The issue all stems from the additional musics that the DLC adds. They are zipped files and for whatever reason when they are playing through the in-game music player they cause the game to completely take a dump.
I was having all these issues, so I started searching through forums. It seems like there were way too many general "LAG" issues, but there were more than a few that I found to be super helpful in figuring out just what the problem was.

I can't guarantee that my mod will fix anything for you, but I just feel that if I was bothered enough to make this thing then maybe someone out there could use it as well.
All I have done is extract the '.ogg' '.asset' and '.txt' files from their respective DLC folders (in the main Stellaris directory) and plug them into a mod. Once activated the mod will overwrite the zipped soundtracks with the fully extracted versions.
1. Download the mod (MusicPlayerStutterFix.7z)
2. Extract the files and put them in your Stellaris mod directory (\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod\)
3. Launch the launcher and activate the mod
I hope this helps you out, If it works for you then let me know!
