The Realistic Flashlight Mod

Although the flashlight we start the game with, is pretty powerful and bright, it has a big problem: makes all the surfaces (such as walls, furniture, decorations, etc) glow too much!

This makes it harder for us to see in dark nights. And if that wasn't enough of a problem, the sharp contrast between the Flashlight's blinding light and the dark atmosphere in the State of Decay, can seriously tire our eyes in the long term! This can cause potential health issues. So, I made this small mod which deals with the flashlight's issues.

MOD DETAILS

The game's flashlight, although powerful and very bright, can makes things a lot harder for the gamers to see at nights! The flashlight is too bright, and illuminates anything in deep a white hallogen light which makes nightlife a lot more difficult for us the survivors!

All the surfaces, such as house furniture, items, objects, decorations, walls, and cars, are turned bright white if illuminated with the flashlight. And the worst of all: the flashlight also makes them glow too much!

The blinding flashlight kinda ruins the immersion, because that is not how a good flashlight should work. A good and reliable flashlight has only one task: cast away the darkness, not to blind the survivor!

So, here my mod comes: it fixes all of the aforementioned blinding problems and turns your flashlight into a realistic one, which features a much more advanced and improved conical light radius, that is closer to the real life's standards. The light emanating from the flashlight spreads now in a wider but focused conical range, and thus, it helps the player see easier the environments around him during the night. With this mod, your night-time gameplay experience rises to new levels!

NEW SAVEGAME, OR OLD SAVEGAME?

No new game is required. The mod is safe to use with old savegames!

MOD REQUIREMENTS

No requirements. This is a standalone mod.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod is fully compatible with any other mods out there, as long as they don't edit the same file as this mod does! (ul_flashlight.lua)

INSTALL

Just place the contents to the .../State of Decay/Game Folder.

UNINSTALL

Just remove the contents from the .../State of Decay/Game Folder.
