All heroes that are within your current community in your profile/saved game will still have preset specializations even if you install the mod.However when you encounter any new heroes in your current bd playthrough will be effected by this mod and they won't be specialized.
Basically if you want to have all heroes to be unspecialized from the very beginning starting a new game is recommended.
