After the war the Rebellion was stripped of it's assets and mass layoffs occurred. As a result Chewie was left strapped for cash and desperately needed work. He saw an ad on the Holonet scouting larger than life models for a photo shoot at the seedy Mos Eisley Cantina.
The initial reaction to his raunchy captures were overwhelming. He saw himself catapulted into unimaginable fame and glory, and with that came millions of credits and adoring fans. Now, seen as a galactic sex icon, he lives a noisy life on Canto Bight spending big at the tables whilst surrounded by an entourage of various attractive (depending on your point of view) women of all kinds of races.
Chewie's quick rise to fame has proven to be quite a large problem for the First Order's senior command. Boots on the ground soldiers see Chewie as a sort of icon, a way of boosting morale perhaps, and plaster his features all over their weapons, armour, and ships. The First Order wouldn't mind this so much if it weren't for the enormous costs due to the repeated re-painting, repair and replacement of expensive equipment. Some see this as a reason for the First Order's apparent lack of funding for countermeasures and common sense purchases necessary to fight General Organa's Resitance.
Whatever you may think of this whole situation, it's undeniable that Chewie is indeed a sex icon, forever immortalised in this mod. Go on, try to deny it.
