Force the game to show PS5 button icons when an Xbox controller is connected and in use, instead of showing the default Xbox button icons. This is useful if the game is actually using a virtual Xbox controller from x360ce, DS4Windows, or other programs that use ViGEmBus or ScpVBus. These allow you to play with an unsupported controller that the game does not detect, like the Thrustmaster T598 wheel, which happens to have PS5 buttons on it.
Without this mod, the in-game Xbox buttons would not match the controller's physical PS5 buttons. If the game prompts you to press X, it is extremely easy to accidentally press ╳ (which maps to A) instead of always remembering to press ☐.
This mod doesn't modify any other in-game button icons, such as keyboard and mouse or Switch Pro Controller.

Installation
- Download the mod ZIP file.
- Go to the game's installation directory, such as C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Trucker.
- Go into the Star Trucker_Data subdirectory.
- Make a backup copy of sharedassets0.assets.
- Extract sharedassets0.assets from the mod ZIP file into this directory.
Uninstallation
- Replace sharedassets0.assets with your backup copy.
