Ok so first of all this mod still works incredibly, thanks a lot for this mod, it really changes the feeling of the game for lots of places! But hey, I tried searching manually and on Reddit and on google, I just could not find the actual game music location for the actual music files, I want to make a Music Overhaul of this game completely using your mod, but I simply can't find them anywhere! Can anyone give me the actual location?...can't wait to finally just play the game without having to change musics manually on my player every minute.
This is amazing! Just one request, would you be able to add an optional file/download to replace the menu theme with the default theme (not the stupid DISCO song that comes before it). This one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_INzWxfJ8mo Thanks again and amazing work!
this is great first thing i download when io start playing STO. Would be great if the author could send us directions on how to add more tracks to it if hes not willing to expand the music compilation.
I created this for myself years ago based off a post I read about a nude patch for STO. I wasn't really interested in nude star trek lol but the concepts were the same. I don't remember the exact tools but basically an FSB packager and a memory reader is what I used. I used the memory editor to see what music file was playing in what location. I then tried to map that to something more authentic from the movies or tv. I used the FSB tool to package the MP3 files into FSB files. Other than that, it was just placing them in the right folder.
As an aside, I tried this on the Xbox and nothing I did seemed to work. Xbox is pretty closed so it doesnt surprise me but I was hoping.
This is normal...for this game. I don't think the devs spent much time designing how the sounds works. There are locations in the game that are hard coded to play a specific filename. I did my best to try to find something that best matched the locations. I also had to figure out what triggered each location with a memory editor as I as playing so I could have missed something as well.
Hi, unfortunately, the install path does not work for me. I have unpacked those .fsb files into C:\Games\Star Trek Online_en\localdata\sound\win32 as stated in the readmi.txt. Anything I might have missed?
I haven't played this on PC in years so I am going from memory but I remember there being 2 install folders that look the same. You want the one that has LIVE in the path. Something like "Star Trek Online\Star Trek Online\Live\Localdata"
So, I believe DS9 ground is the "_ST_Fanfare" file. When I try to swap it out, however, nothing plays anymore in DS9 Ground. Has anyone gotten it to work?
There are several tools you need, and the process is very time consuming and monotonous. I can try to find the links if you want but I promise you it will take quite a bit of work to get it done correctly.
