This is a simple mod that does what it says on the tin. The backgrounds offer a nice contrast to both vanilla and KM, along with anything else I've seen around the net. To my knowledge, nobody's done a set of backdrops meant to be artistic renditions of stellar phenomenon, plus this taught me a lot about how the game handles textures. I'll gladly do a second pass at this with the textures in much higher resolution, once a certain 20 year-old memory hurdle is overcome, but that's above my pay grade and in the purview of the Bridge Commander Maelstrom Mod team, so check them out and send them love, as they taught me everything I learned to make this and anything else I throw up here. Bridge Commander will live forever if we let it.
Also: I used the textures that came with KM as a base just to get them working in game, so they're technically in there underneath everything. I should take this time to thank everyone in the community who's come and gone over the years and contributed to making this one of the greatest captain simulators of all time. If anyone in the know requests I take this down, I'll do so.
The new backgrounds themselves came from the Homeworld series, both the originals by Sierra and the newer entries by Gearbox, I'm no artist, just a guy that can get textures from one thing into another.
Plus, I haven't seen ALL the images I added in since there's so many, but if anyone notices any glaring issues or bugs or weird visual artifacts beyond what's normal in a 20 year-old game, please message me and I'll fix it up!!!
