The three "power tools" in the game weren't shown all that much love. This mod fixes some of the shortcomings by giving the cutter, arc welder, and auto-rivet weapon qualities like other guns get, as well as some extra mod slots and mods for them.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ya'll! I've been sitting on this mod a while, but things have finally settled down with my other mods so I can release it. I wanted to do for the 'power tool' weapons what I did for melee weapons, giving them some much needed features to keep them competitive with the other weapons in the game, and hopefully enabling your fantasy of being a space engineer with space engineer style weapons!

Below are just a few of the things I did for the big three power tools (cutter, arc welder, and rivet gun):
  • Weapon qualities (Calibrated, Refined, and Advanced) for all three weapons.
  • Prospector and Recon Prospector for the cutter act like a scope for more precise control, and the recon prospector can mark targets.
  • Larger batteries for the arc welder and cutter, and different battery types for the arc welder (based on laser weapon mods).
  • The Shielded Grip can be used on all three power tools.
  • New internals (Overclocked and more) for the power tools.
  • EM Barrels for the Arc Welder.
  • Partial Cutter Conversions for all Laser Weapons gives your laser weapon a Cutter beam so it can harvest resources.
  • Converted Utility Weapons (Equinox, Solstice, and Orion) are total conversions of laser weapons into full on Cutters, but modifiable as their original weapon.

Many of the screenshots shown are using the DeWalt Heavy Tools retexture.
The OMODs in this mod are created using a 'Hacked' way of injecting the OMOD entries into the vanilla game. This is safe, but if you are a modder, you need to visit Injected OMOD Co-Operation Registry if you want to do something similar. Failure to do so, and doing it on your own WILL result in conflicts with tons of other mods. Don't be a cowboy. (Most of these entries have been removed, since this method is no longer necessary.)

Installation:
  • Unzip the archive and put TNPowerTools.esm into your Starfield/Data folder (most likely under Documents/My Games/Starfield/Data), or let your mod manager install the file.
  • Add *TNPowerTools.esm to your Plugins.txt file. (Ensure it has the * in front of it.)
  • Install Baka Achievement Enabler and SFSE if you don't want achievements disabled.
