Disclaimer! I am very new to modding (only made one other one)

This mod is based off of SlowerThanLight - Fly in a star system by 105gun

Just like their mod, this mod adds in a gearing system to allow you to DRASTICALLY speed up your engines to travel between planets without using any fast travel mechanics.

It requires Starfield Hotkeys by registrator2000 & Target Home Ship by styperman.

To use this mod, change your gears by using the number keys 1-9 (NOT NUMPAD).

If you are traveling to a system that is over 1000 LS (Lightseconds) away or more, prepare for a long ride!

Once you get within 10 or so LS away from your destination, press ALT+1 and this will reload the game allow your engines to go from a ridiculous number back to gear 1.

You can always open the Hotkeys.ini and change the hotkeys yourself if you choose to do so.

This mod is in testing!

Piloting checks =  ✅️
Run Grav Jump animations = WIP
Allow traveling while walking around ship/autopilot = WIP
Interdiction mechanic = WIP
Random encounter mechanic = WIP
Camera stabilization = WIP
Alternative to SGTM = ???

Added checks for if player is piloting!
I have not put in any checks to see if your character is piloting a ship.
After a certain speed is obtained the rate of velocity seems to slow down to a crawl, because of this, my hotkey scripts use sgtm to change the game speed, setting to gear 1 or reloading the game with alt+1 will reset the game time speed to default.
If you notice that the game is moving by super fast while you're not flying your ship, type into the console "sgtm 1" without quotes.

If you are using Baka Disable My Games Folder please follow this brief guide by HopefulUnit344
"I did some digging and found out that Starfield Hotkeys had a problem. In many cases it seems to struggle with the Baka Disable My Games mod. The paths are not set the way they should. I found a post of a guy who found a workaround. I put the content of your hotkeys.ini into a newly named StarfieldConsoleDefault.ini + a StarfieldHotkeys.ini. Both ini files had to be put into the Starfield folder in My Games, despite of having the baka disable my games mod. Than I used the console command "reload console" and that did it. Hotkeys are working great now."

I am open to any ideas!
