I would love for you to make a video tutorial of making skin tone replacers like this.

Since making the Omari Hassan patch has got me working on this again, are there any particular pastel colors that you had in mind? Use this site to find the color you're looking for and tell me the hex code for it. That way I can easily pull it up as a reference while I'm adjusting the color curves.

Super awesome work! I was wondering if you could add colors like, pitch black, stark white, maybe a few shades of gray, or maybe even like a slightly metallic silver?

Found my first named NPC that uses sk8 in Omari Hassan. Already successfully tested my green skin face replacer for him. Just need to make the rest of the colors in the pack for him to add an optional patch to the uploaded files. If anyone using STAR has encountered any other named NPCs affected by it, please let me know so I can make patches for them as well.

looks good, could u just put it on 8 instead of 9 and have 2 sets of textured ncp? or maybe the full set of 1-9 all colored up or its only possible on # 9 as it seems everyone is using 9, right now i got female blue and male green on # 9, anyway, it opens up star trek and star wars, shame it doesn`t work on companions the capp 14, i would turn them all colored from star treks, etc, wonder if npc uses the same companion player textures, prob not as i see a lot of brown eyes, now that i did a eye texture pack for myself, be cool to see a lot of alien races

Slot 9 is just the slot that most modders picked because it's the least used skin tone for NPCs, so it mitigated the risk of the texture being unintentionally applied to them. I actually had thought about uploading a version of the mod that assigned one skin tone to each slot, but I decided against it to not have to make the decision of which ones stay or go if I decide to add more color options. However, I'll definitely add the option to pick separate colors for each body type in the next update, as that idea also crossed my mind before.

To change which skin tone slot it occupies, just rename the files so that sk8 is sk(Desired slot number - 1). If you wanted to put one color in every skin tone slot, it's a simple yet tedious process.

      • Manually download the zip and extract into a temporary folder, hereafter referred to as Blah in further steps.
      • Delete the fomod folder and all the pictures.
      • Change the sk8 in the name of the texture files as mentioned above, so that each color is associated with a different skin tone slot.
      • Move the Data folder in each color up one level. In other words, open \Blah\(color)\, copypasta the Data folder into \Blah\, then delete \Blah\(color)\.
      • If you're using Vortex, add the Data folder to a new zip file. If you're using MO2, open Data and add the Textures folder to a new zip file.
      • Rename the zip file so you know what it is in your mod manager and add it like any other mod.

now i defenatly meant it as a comedic way lol, but at the same time if you use the modern term of smash, it could be argued that hulk wants to smash the sexy colorful women lol, especailly the green ones, or maybe he just wants to smash them in the origional meaning, it's open to interpritation to the the beholder.

Are you adding it via a mod manager (the preferred method) or are you trying to manually install it by extracting the contents of the zip file?

Which manager, Vortex or MO2? Is the fomod installer window not popping up?
Are you using any other mods that replace the skin tone 9 body textures, like an underwear replacer or nude mod?

The more information you can give me about the situation, the better your chances are of figuring out what's going wrong on your end.

I figured it out. I was putting it in steam/starfield/data like skyrim and fallout 3.
I didnt know it was loading from documents.../starfield/data.

Bethesda bamboozled me by changing the mod directories

The modfix file I linked allows mods to be loaded from the game's Data folder rather than Documents without further workaround needed. Definitely useful if you install your games to a different drive than your OS drive, as mods won't take up space on your OS drive.

Yea there are lots of different races of people that play this game. Don't want one race taking over cities and being all the leadership in the universe.

The percentage of NPCs that use sk8 is among the lowest, but those that do and aren't named NPCs should be changed to match. Named NPCs have their own dedicated face textures, so only the visible parts of their bodies that aren't the face and neck would be affected by the mod. However, if anyone encounters a named NPC who does end up affected by this mod, let me know and I will make a supplementary mod that changes their face textures too.
