How To Install

This sections is a quick install instructions if you have already set up your mods and plugin files for Starfield

-Inside the StarfieldCustom.ini:
...\Documents\My Games\Starfield

-Add the following for more decals and distant decal creation
[Decals]
uMaxDecals=1000
uMaxSkinDecals=500
uMaxSkinDecalsPerActor=50
iMaxDecalsPerFrame=25
iMaxSkinDecalsPerFrame=25
[Display]
fDecalLifetime=1500.00
fDecalLOD0=50000
[Quality]
uDecals=3


-Then open the Blood Files folder and open either 2k or 4k folder
-Extract the Textures folder into:
...\Documents\My Games\Starfield

Open the plugin text file "Plugin.txt" inside:
....\AppData\Local\Starfield

-Add the following lines to the file:
*dD - Enhanced Blood Textures - Medium.esm
*dD - Enhanced Blood Textures - Excessive.esm
*dD - Enhanced Blood Textures - Reduced.esm


-Open Plugins folder and pick ONE of the esm files and extract it into:
...\steamapps\common\Starfield\Data

-Then launch your game using "sfse_loader.exe" or "asi"

If you haven't set up your mod files and esm plugins then you need to do the following
Step one: Enable loose files
-----------------
-create a StarfieldCustom.ini inside:
.../Documents\My Games\Starfield

-and have the following text inside that file:
[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

Step two: INI files

-Inside the StarfieldCustom.ini:
...\Documents\My Games\Starfield

-Add the following for more decals and distant decal creation

Step three: Manual install data files

-Open the Blood Files folder and open either 2k or 4k folder

(yes, this is inside the documents folder and not inside the game's installed location)

Step four: Setting up esm file support and installing
--------------
-If you haven't done so yet download Plugins.txt Enabler
-Follow the install instructions on the mod page:
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/4157

-After that is done, press the windows key and type %appdata%
-Then click on "appdata" button at the top of the window and then double click on the local folder then starfield folder
-Create a plugin file if it isn't there already called:
Plugin.txt

-Open that same file and enter copy this into it:
*dD - Enhanced Blood Textures - Medium.esm
*dD - Enhanced Blood Textures - Excessive.esm
*dD - Enhanced Blood Textures - Reduced.esm

-Open Plugins folder and pick ONE of the esm files and extract it into:
...\steamapps\common\Starfield\Data

-Then launch your game using "sfse_loader.exe" or "asi"

-Done

For Xbox gamepass version and to enable your game to load loose files:
-go to:
C:\Xbox Games\Starfield\Content
(or where you have your xbox games installed)

-Open Starfield.ini and search for [Archive] and below that add this line:
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1

-then follow rest of the steps as mentioned above

-can install without texture changes to allow other blood mods to be used with the plugin file that increases blood size

Future
Wounds and other effects are planned when more modding tools are developed. Most likely when the creation kit is released.
