1.1 version:
Waterfalls and mist are bigger than 1.0 version. The falling trail is a curve, not falling straightly downward.


It doesn't mean 1.1 is better than 1.0. They are just two styles. If you like 1.0 ver you can continue to use it.

A more white version, choose only one to install

Update Plan:

Add an aqua version based on 1.1 version
Figure out warmup time and LOD
try to fix the missing sound bug

Vanilla Waterfall:
1. Ugly Thick Grey Water and Mist
2. Few details
3. Very Big Spray

Mod Waterfall:
1. White and Clean Water and Mist
2. More details: Consists of 3 types of water particles with different velocity, density... Looks better; Has foams and some water drops on water surface
3. Smaller Spray


This waterfall is made of particles, a powerful system in Starfield. I am learning it and this mod is my first attempt.
HPE, Hal Particle Effect, is my second mod series. In this series, I use new particle files to change some vanilla visual effects to make them better.

I highly recommend you to use my another mod: Better NA Water With Tutorial at Starfield Nexus - Mods and Community. This mod makes NA water cleaner. I used these mods together in my Showcase video. It looks great.


QA:
Q: At some occasions, I can't hear the waterfall sound.
A: This is a vanilla bug. Not mine. I load a save file near the waterfall, jump to ship port and then take the elevator back to waterfall. The watefall sounds don't load and miss. Save and reload can fix this bug.

Q: Does this mod change all waterfalls?
A: No, it only changes these 2 biggest waterfalls in New Atlantis

Q: Does it changes other vanilla particle effects?
A: No, I use my own particle effect files. It doesn't change any vanilla effects.

Q: I think the waterfall is smaller than vanilla.
A: I agree. But I like smaller waterfall, so I make it smaller. LOL

Q: Will this mod cost more performance?
A: Particles cost very small performance. They only cost about 200Kb memory each.

Q: When I am very close to waterfall, fps drops.
A: It is OK. Vanilla game has this problem, because near the waterfall mist, lights and shadows are complex. But I think it'd be better for you to stand further to appreciate waterfalls :)

QA:
Q: 某些情况下瀑布的声音消失了
A: 这是一个原版游戏的bug,不是我mod的bug。我加载了一个瀑布边上的存档,然后跳到下面,乘坐电梯回到瀑布,然后声音就消失了。存档然后重新加载可以解决这个问题

Q: 这个mod会改变所有的瀑布吗
A: 并不会,只会更改新亚最大的两个瀑布

Q::这个mod会影响原版的粒子效果吗
A:并不会,因为我用的是自己的粒子文件,不会影响原版的粒子效果

Q:我觉得瀑布比原来小
A:确实,不过我觉得原来的有些太大了,都有些穿模。我觉得小一点的瀑布更适合新亚

Q:这个mod会导致性能问题吗
A:少量的粒子并不会过度影响性能,每一个瀑布只会增加200kb的内存占用,这是很少的

Q:我靠近瀑布时掉帧了
A:这是正常的,因为原版也有这个问题。这是因为水雾多的地方光照和阴影就会很复杂,自然帧数就低一些。不过正常人欣赏瀑布还是离得远一点吧,你站在瀑布里面是想修仙吗
