It seems that ReShade has compatibility issue with Steam overlay, so if you want Steam overlay for the steam input support, remove the d3d12.dll from this mod. it would essentially remove ReShade, so Steam overlay and other stuff might work.
But be aware that you'll lose the CAS sharpening, so when turning on DLSS it will look softer than FSR2 because of the missing sharpener.

I couldn't include the nvngx_dlss.dll because the mod might get taken down for containing Nvidia dlls, I've had a mod taken down for that.

You have completely ruined whatever reputation you have as a modder after this stunt. Congrats dude. Nice job.

Agreed. To openly make a threat the way he did on IGN, and state the paywall was indeed just for the money --
he deserves to both get removed off Nexus Mods and Patreon.
We'll be lucky if no long-term damages come out once he's been removed from this community.

As a prominent modder on this site for over a decade, I am ashamed as to what this has become.

I gave 3000 hours of my life for my Lighting mod on Skyrim and I have never even once thought to put my mod behind a paywall. I was even offered money a few times to take it off Nexus and put it on emerging sites and refused because of the amount of people who used my mod.

I have had about 3 million people use my mods over the years and I make about $80 a month from Nexus.

This guy put his mod behind a paywall and is making $40,000 to $80,000 a month.

This site has become full of leeches and it's sad to see. I am struggling with my health and I am a single parent of two and all I have ever done is asked people to help me with donations and in the past that was frowned upon. If I had made just $1 per download, I would be a rich man right now.  This guy here, is now a rich man. Half a million to 1.1 million dollars a year on Patreon. Insane.

A paywall AND DRM? I wouldn't even do it for $80,000 a month. Modders do deserve more money but this is not the way.

No way. It just goes against what modding is about.

Go donate to Luke, at least he released something similar for FREE.

I will not and have never "donated" to anyone's Patreon. It makes people look desperate af for money. Same goes for people on YT who already make money from monetization then they have the audacity to put a JOIN button on their videos so they can make even more money. I already sub to that person, joining is unnecessary. This disgusting capitalistic greed needs to stop, from companies and everyday people alike. Don't apologize for being upset. You have every right to be.

MadHaTr there's a further improved version of this mod locked behind a paywall on the mod author's patreon.

      Edit: Everyone's pissed. Me included.

I think people on Youtube or even modders have a right to put up donations, patreons etc.

There is nothing wrong with making money off hard work. What is wrong is putting a lesser version of a mod for free, and then one that actually works behind a paywall which also includes DRM.

I for one streamed on Youtube back in 2017/2018 (I had to quit because im not well) and made $2000 in 8 months via donations. That allowed me to buy new bunk beds for my kids and a car because I couldn't afford one. I do admit about half those donations were from real life friends and family.

With my patreon and Nexus donation points I make enough to pay my internet bill and my gas bill. I also put a portion of that aside to get my kids birthday and Xmas gifts.

I have no idea how I would survive without these donations. It doesn't seem like much (just $80-100 a month) but in no way is this capitalism or greed on my part. I worked hard for everything I earn. So I do in part understand when a modder tries to profit off their work, but only when its fair to people who have come before them and to the spirit of modding and the community as a whole.

What is gross is when someone is earning $40,000 a month on mods put behind a paywall.

Never in a million years would I have thought that modders would make half a million dollars a year. My mods have about 6x more downloads than Puredark yet I earn $80 a month compared to his $40,000 a month. Sure his mods are newer and are more useful, but had he gone the same route as most modders, he would be making the same as me, peanuts. In my case, these are valuable peanuts that help me to not become homeless. I am grateful for the Patrons I have, but I would never put my work behind paywalls.

Sometimes it makes me feel stupid that I didn't start Patreon earlier or I wish I didn't have a moral compass. I would be living an easier life, but I believe in Karma and not going to sleep with guilt in my mind.

Once again I apologize for the rants I do sometimes, but I am extremely passionate about modding, this community I have been a part of now for over a decade and specifically my rights and my beliefs. There should be fairness for all. Modders and the users alike.

I'm not pissed at all.  I signed up for his patreon and am very satisfied.   He does good work and I am fine with him getting paid by those who can afford it.  If you don't want to pay him, use the free version.   Half of the mods on nexus are janky and slow to get updates because everyone is doing it in their spare time.   This dude had framegen DLSS on day one.   I am a satisfied customer.   I think people need to chill out about "the spirit of modding" and just let everyone do their own thing.   If he didn't put out quality product, I wouldn't pay him.   Very simple

You aren't the only one who's pissed off at this. the news has started getting traction among youtubers and i'm sure at some point the mod will be taken down because he's making money off of nvidia's technology.

elderlypunk would you be saying that once DLSS is added to the game in an update?

the spirit of modding on this site has never included paying for a better version of the mod. enlighten me if i am incorrect please.

If PureDark invented DLSS, I would be okay with him locking his creation behind a paywall. But did they seriously lock a nvidia feature behind a paywall and profit off Bethesda not yet implementing a feature? Someone needs to let them know, nvidia has sued for WAY less, holy crap this is going to be hilarious. This sounds like a slam dunk.

To anyone that paid for DLSS. Seriously, wtf? You just told nvidia you would for future games. What a terrible precedent.

This dude had framegen DLSS on day one.
That's the problem. It's a nvidia setting, not a mod. You can't sell access to nvidia technologies without approval from nvidia. You can't sell a setting of a product you don't own.

      elderlypunk
      I am a satisfied customer.
Jfc, why? You just told every gaming studio, (and even nvidia) that you will happily pay for the "DLSS Version" of a game. Considering all graphics are transitioning from rasterization to AI upscale, you just told everyone you will happily pay more for games if it has a setting, basically incentivising its omission. AND Bethesda already said it's going to release DLSS support. It's hilarious you think "Money well spent" after all this.
