Void Form still makes you entirely invisible - so it remains highly useful, without making sneak/concealment superfluous as stealth skills.
I considered several ways to balance Void Form, including disabling sneak attack bonus or having attacks cost power or remove Void Form entirely.
But it occurred to me that the concept of being in Void Form made it incredibly simple to balance. You are essentially "in the Void" - which I assume is like being ethereal. To me, this means you can't really physically attack anyone.
Right? Well, it works for me - and gives me the balance I want :)
I made this mod because of how trivial the game became, once I realized that Void Form made melee sneak attacks trivially easy to execute with zero consequences.
Void Form sets the sound you're making to 0 - and it nullifies the sneak penalty you get while running. This, on top of being invisible.
You're essentially untouchable while in Void Form - as long as you don't stand still as you're getting blind fired upon.
Not only does it take away from the fun of stealth entirely - it also goes counter to how Bethesda put so much work into making stealth less overpowered.
If you've ever played Skyrim/Fallout with a stealth character - you'll know that those games provided almost no challenge once you progressed a bit with your skills - even with several balance mods installed
