Okay. So this has taken a weird turn overnight. To clarify this IS NOT ripped from the Starfield files.
As has been pointed out, this is the rear end of the NV4 from COD Infinite Warfare. The game is missing an M4 that everyone knows and loves so that's what I'm working on.
OOOOHHH lol. im sorry then. the wording of your post made it seem like you found it in the files. If you're actually working on it then that awesome! i *love* the designs of Infinite Warfare weapons and i think they will look perfect in Starfield. Yeah obviously it's way better if its a modder adding it to the game instead of a developer. I wish to apologize if i accidently implied any impropriety on your part, i was pretty exhausted and i didnt apply any critical thinking on my part. A great part about Starfield animation is that the default animation for the Maelstrom and the AA-99 would both work perfectly for an AR-15 shaped weapon. the AA-99 has a foregrip while the Maelstrom lacks one, but both have a simple "place mag in, press bolt release" style of animation. Im looking forward to it!
Ooooh a challenger appears! Welcome, if you need help on porting this let me know, I'm gonna port the animations and models to make the mod and if you're interested on a colab then awesome!
It... kind of is. the issue is that it's literally the stock from the NV4 from Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and its presence in a Bethesda game is very strange and potentially embarrassing.
compare the image to the model: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/custom-carbine-rifle-nv4-cod-195d2de670b24e22a98cf9d47607e646
Wow, thats super wierd. It looks like one of the devs was experimenting or something because that's quite literally the same stock from the "NV4" from Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.
Compare the straps, how there is the wider one near the buffer tube and the thin one near the rear. Also the the inclusion of the chemlight on the left side of the stock. It's literally the same model. This might genuinely be a case of accidental copyright theft considering this is Activision property in a Bethesda game. Maybe they were importing models from other sci fi games to act as a sort of "style guide" to help drive the art direction?

Edit: disregard everything, I'm an idiot.
It literally is.
