As i wrote Jorge, I can really recommend the Vanguard and the Ranger stories, with the first one being a bit more like Mass Effect (with a touch of Alien) and the second one good for more Fallout-y feelings.
Beautiful set!
This game apparently has a certain vibe with the Mass Effect 1 game, at least as far as planet exploration is concerned, but I found out that of those 100 planets that you can explore only 100 have life there, the rest are for collecting resources.
I haven't played Starfield yet, but I know this game doesn't have a voiced protagonist like Commander Shepard in Mass Effect, you can create your own character and play however you want.
The main story isn't much, and the big "secret" a bit disappointing, but as always it's the big faction quests like the Vanguard or the Ranger which are made really good. Just finished the the big fight for the UC against the Crimson Fleet, it's a bit like the Civil War in Skyrim.
The one thing I'm not so sure about is the long-time playability. Due to this planet-hopping, and it's very repetitive places on them, I really hope some modders can fill this universe with life. To be honest, just a few star systems with well-made planets and interesting stories would have been better.
Now I'm off again to the stars.
