CONSOLE COMMAND EXAMPLES

#1: Using TFC and TGP to pick a different viewing angle for animations
Some markers don't have a particularly good camera; either the angle is poor, it's too close to the player, or it orbits rather nauseatingly. While I haven't yet found a way to override the camera for a given marker, you can use console commands to select a different viewing angle. This is also useful in general, if for example you wanted to make a video.

After activating the animation, bring up the console and use tfc (Toggle Fly Cam) followed by tgp (Toggle Game Pause). Optionally, you may also want to adjust the movement speed of the free camera to give you better control, here I'm using sucsm 0.05 to reduce the speed. You can now close the console and use your movement keys to position the camera wherever you'd like. When you're happy with it, open the console again and use tgp to unpause the game. Watch the animation, and when you're finished use tfc again in the console to exit the free camera. You can then just exit the marker/furniture as normal.

#2: Placing an animation marker yourself, removing it, and rotating it
If you'd like to place a marker somewhere (either temporarily for a video/screenshot, or permanently on your ship or outpost) you can do that the same way as spawning any other object. A useful command here is picklastref, as it allows you to select the last spawned object without having to click on it. Anything spawned on a ship like this will remain until/unless you modify the structure of the ship.

In the video above you can see the process of finding, placing, deleting and rotating a marker. The help command can be used to find markers by (partial) name, for example help dance 4 furn will find all furniture items (animation markers are a kind of furniture) with "dance" in them. player.placeatme followed by the base formid of the marker will place it wherever the player is currently standing, and in the direction they're facing. After placing a marker (or any other object) you can use picklastref to select it. If you placed a marker that you no longer want, you can use markfordelete followed by disable to remove it; you should only use markfordelete on objects you yourself have spawned in the console, not on anything else. Lastly, you can use modangle to change the angle of a marker, for example modangle z 90 will rotate the marker 90 degrees clockwise.

You could also move a marker using modpos as with any other spawned item, but for that you might want to switch to the red markers version as it will be easier to keep track of.
