This guide is for NVIDIA users but I imagine AMD follows the same basic steps

1. Open your favorite web browser and go to the NVIDIA Official Drivers or AMD Drivers and Support page. Obviously updating your AMD Drivers will be different than the steps I mention below.

2. Select the correct Product Type, Product Series, Product, Operating System, and Language for your system. The Game Ready Driver is the main NVIDIA driver and features increased performance, bug fixes, and improved gaming experience. There is never a good reason to change this. Click Search when you have finished selecting the appropriate dropdowns.

3. As of 2024.03.05 the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver is version 551.76. Click Download.

4. You'll be taken to a new page where you can download the file. Click Download again

5. Your file will most likely be in your computer's Downloads folder, but you can also access it from your browser and just need to click on it to launch the installer.

        *Firefox Browser

6. You should see a User Account Control window similar to the below. If you do, go ahead and click Yes, this is just a warning that something is going to make changes to your computer. You may not see this if you have an older operating system.

7. Next you will be asked where to save the driver files, keep the default Extraction path and select OK

8. When finished saving, the driver installation process will continue. I don't recommend installing GeForce Experience. The optimization process will often give you game settings that don't match your computer's capabilities. Select NVIDIA Graphics Driver only and then 'AGREE AND CONTINUE'.

9. For Installation options, Express (Recommended) settings will work, but I always use Custom (Advanced) to allow for a clean install, which will remove all previous versions before installing the new one. Click Next when done.

10. Graphics Driver, HD Audio Driver, and PhysX System Software should be checked if there is a newer version available. Check Perform a clean isntallation and leave NVIDIA GeForce Experience unchecked, then click Next to install the drivers.

11. The installer will take a few minutes to prepare the installation and then install the various components. Don't worry if your monitor flickers or briefly turns off.

12. Any time you install something that changes your computer system, you should restart to make sure the process has completed successfully.
