You can use winzip or winrar for free (i think they both have trials that are only theoretically time limited)! It's an extra step, but at least you could fix it without spending money or anything :)

Hello! Do you have plans on making this mod compatible with Ridgeside Village in the future? Thank you so much in advance :)

This is a great mod. The only problem is that it breaks the graphic for Leah's sculpture. I assume it's due to sprite sheets, but Leah's statue ends up displaying the left third of its normal sprite and the left third of one of the Moonshine Barbecue sculptures, separated by a line of nothing.

I did test, by the way, removing mods to figure out what was causing it, and it's this mod. A shame, because if not for that then this mod would be great. But instead I just... can't use it.

Look like an incorrect x co-ord - i've uploaded a new version, so that should fix the issue!

I was just thinking the other day "wish there was a way to add some more culture to SDV" and lo and behold here it be! :D Quick question, don't actually know how far you got but are there any plans to change stuff around the island to make it less... Colonised? Not just rewriting the dialogue for the characters there or making them look like Island Natives, but the actual landscape itself looks a lot like, and excuse my language, a white man's ideal of what Islands look like. Which is to say, it looks like the touristy parts of an Island that are advertised rather than the actual lived in areas. Maybe that is too big a project (though I would help in anyway I could) but seeing this mod, I thought now would be the time to ask.

Just an ask, no pressure for anything!

I absolutely adore all the work you're putting into diversifying SDV. I chose an excellent year to join this community!

thank you! :D i do have plans to redesign the island somewhat, although at the moment I need to get better at spriting buildings since i am, uh, crap :') but it's on my plans to add to my diverse ginger island mod, so hopefully I'll get the time to add that in :D

This is very exciting to hear! I think your sprites for this look wonderful, so it is only a matter of time before you crack the secret code to making buildings as well!

hi! This looks so incredibly neat, but I have to check, does it work with SVE?

hello! this does not work with SDVE at the moment, since it doesn't patch the dialogue in that mod :)

Okay! Are you thinking of adding a variant for SDV and/or Ridgeside? I'm personally a big fan of making Stardew Valley revolving around their legends and religion a lot more than the currently rather Christocentric stuff we have now. It is simply not the vibe and your mod is 100% the vibe I need

Have you considered a combined variant? Like as in a version that has both the original holidays and these shiny new ones? Functionally it would be like when real world communities celebrate several different holidays that are around the same time, have a few things in common, but otherwise come from different times, places, and traditions.

I'm mostly asking "doesn't this sound neat" in a hypothetical sense. I don't actually expect anyone to do any of the mad ideas I leave in peoples comments.

I thought about it, but coding brands new festivals, while possible, is an absolute PITA :')

Wouldn't it be possible to switch the festivals on a yearly basis? So like every odd years, the original festivals take place, and every even ones, it chooses yours?

About the Moonshine Barbecue? How does it handle stuff like Shane going on the wagon in later years? Or players and/or the perspective of people who simply choose not to drink cause they just aren't interested in drinking?

I ask the former for obvious questions and the latter because I've seen a lot of genuine confusion at the idea people would refuse to drink, let alone abstain from it entirely unless they had a problem with it in the past or something. It can get pretty pushy.

the moonshine barbecue relates to its history rather than what happens in the present day - in that there used to be bathtub gin made in the pot, but now they make soup and the name stuck :D It's still a communal soup pot like the luau, so there's no pressure on any character to drink

Oh my gosh, this seems super neat. It seems like it could add a ton of variety to a playthrough. And I just love an orrery!

Seconded, can we just add orreries to the list of winter decorations in general? Cause I'd love to see a normal Christmas tree sized one just handing around my local mall, with little ones hanging out on the tables next to all the other holiday representatives. Just say its for the Solstice and enjoy the pretty.
