I didn't think I'd ever bother to update this mod, but here we are. This should hopefully fix the fact that Shane randomly disappears while sleeping, and should be entirely 1.5 friendly.
I, however, do not know how this sprite now interacts with Shane's heart events, as those sprites are no longer apart of his sprite sheet, and I'm frankly not far enough into my new playthrough for the actual answer.
To use this file to replace the one in steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Content\Characters.
