    Good afternoon!
I wanted to translate this wonderful mod into Russian myself. I ran into a problem that the mod does not display the Russian alphabet or simply does not open a dialog box when addressing a child. Tell me, please, what could this be related to? All keywords, such as §RelationName or %farm (etc.), were not changed during translation. At the same time, the names of animals, farms, etc. are displayed perfectly.
    Thank you in advance!

Hello :) I just tested it and it works with the Russian alphabet:

Maybe something is wrong with the json file.
It's important to keep the format, for example, all brackets and commas after every sentence.
I recommend Notepad++, with that you see issues faster, it should look like this:

Oh maybe its the file code, it is in UTF-8?

Hmm, interesting. I created a separate package for the "ru" language, after which I transferred all the files from the "en" version to it, after which I translated all the boy's phrases into Russian in Notepad++, the program did not show problems highlighted in red. I specified "ru" in the config, but the phrases were still in English, I came to the conclusion that the game takes a json file from the "en" folder, however, after I directly replaced the json file in the "en" folder, the dialog box simply stopped appearing. So apparently the problem is in the json file, but I can't identify the cause.

Yes, I think its the json file.
If you want, you can write me a private message with a downloadlink to your dialouges files. Dont post here please.
I will look at it later, if I have more time on PC.
I'm sure we can solve it :)

Click on the envelope symbol at the top right, then 'Compose New' :)
  2. hey I'm having an issue where smapi just keeps saying "IUCT- MOD NPCs Version-17054-2-00-1704688107\UniqueChildren Talk\assets\Dialogues\en\Own\Toddler\Girl because it contains files, but none of them are manifest.json." what does this mean?

Hi :) Seems you downloaded this mod:
      https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/17054

And seems you extracted it with a separate folder ''IUCT- MOD NPCs Version-17054-2-00-1704688107.
Delete 'IUCT- MOD NPCs Version-17054-2-00-1704688107' and extract it directly, so it looks like this:
      Stardew Valley\Mods\UniqueChildren Talk\assets\Dialogues\en\Own\Toddler\Girl

      and not:
      Stardew Valley\Mods\IUCT- MOD NPCs Version-17054-2-00-1704688107\UniqueChildren Talk\assets\Dialogues\en\Own\Toddler\Girl
    2. Yeah lol, I read a few of the comments and figured it out, thank you!

Hi! All the file editing in this is very involved and I was wondering if you'd consider making a version more compatible with GMCM so settings like what the child calls you can be edited in-game

Hi :) but its already compatible with GMCM (PC Version). Maybe I didn't understand it correctly, what exactly should be edited via GMCM?

Hi, yes, of course :) Btw keywords like §RelationName or %farm (and so on) have to stay like that, otherwise it won't work.

I would like to ask you one last question. dialogue other and own Do you use the same dialogue?
    7. Shaklin
      Shaklin

      No, not quite the same.

If you talk to YOUR children, the "Own" dialogue is used.
If you talk to COOP PLAYER'S children (multiplayer), then the "Other" dialogue is used.
"Own" children say for example more "I missed you..." and the "Other" children say something like "Nice that you visit us".)

Boy and Girls are also sometimes different when they sit:
(Girls talk about books, Boys about their pen pals)

      Festivals dialogues are all same.

Btw, maybe that translate page helps you:
      https://www.onlinedoctranslator.com/en/translationform
(just rename .json to .txt and upload it. Download the translated file and rename it again to .json)
Some things have to be improved manually, e.g. the variables (all words with a % or §. e.g. %name, %farm and so on must be stay in english)

SMAPI says it's skipped this mod due to the lack of manifest.json file. Is anyone else having this issue?

Edit: Never mind, it was an issue on my end.

To fix the missing manifest.json file:

Download the previous version of Unique Children Talk 2.4. Then move the manifest file to the new version 2.5.

    Hi, quick question!

My character is married and they just had a baby. Is this mod safe to install now, mid-save? (Wondering about the Unique Children mod as well).

Dumb question, is there a way to make the child's portrait less blurry? I added a custom one so that it's similar to DCBurger's portraits but they're coming out super blurry :(

Hi :) If you have HD portraits you need the mod Portraiture:
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/999 (under Optional files. For Stardew Valley 1.6)

Create a new folder, for example 'Portraits', in Mods\Portraiture\ and put your png there. It should look like this:
      Mods\Portraiture\Portraits\YorChildName.png

Ingame you can hit P to toggle Vanilla portraits and HD portraits

Hello! I just updated from 2.4 to 2.5 and now vortex is telling me that both this mod and the unique children mods are "broken, not open source". Both mods are on their newest versions.

Hi :) I think it's because the compatible list of smapi mods hasn't been updated yet.
      https://smapi.io/mods/

I honestly don't know if I have to do anything about it. We should wait a few days for the updated List :).

Hello! Just found this mod recently and it's adorable, I love it so much, definitely going to be one of my permanent ones now.
Thank you for the amazing work!
It's working perfectly for the 1.6 update so far <3

I read a comment about it not working with the update, and yes, it won't work if you try to talk to the children with the keyboard keys/commands (they will only show the heart bubble speech), but if you use the mouse right-click, they'll talk to you as intended (:

Thanks for your feedback :) I appreciate it!

Hmm, the action button has never worked because I never programmed it for it. I thought it was common for everyone to use a mouse or a gamepad.

But I can add it in the next update so that it also works with the action button :).

Oooh, that's alright! I didn't mean for it to sound like a request.
Just thought I'd point it out in case someone else had this "problem" and came looking around ^^
      Thanks again!
