I downloaded the new update and tried the exclusion settings. I got a bunch of warnings on SMAPI tho, like the one in the pic below:
I was fishing in the forest river. I tried excluding minnow and rainbow trout from the vanilla + sve versions of the mod but I was still catching them.
Unrelated to these warnings, I also have issues with the crab pot settings. I have the no trash box checked but I've still been getting trash. (I know it says there's a small chance of catching glasses/CDs but I've been getting a lot of other trash like driftwood and newspapers.) I have crab pots in the ocean and the mountain lake. It's not a biggie, but I just thought I should mention it 😅
Here is my SMAPI log: https://smapi.io/log/adaa42cc93b642fc91c8667ce26bcdf9
The error you're seeing is actually because SVE named Minnow wrong for the farm locations, already contacted the author :) Shouldn't hurt anything with those errors present!
The Minnow was in fact missing from vanilla locations so I fixed that in the latest version (6.0.4)!
For Crab Pots, I found the issue is with the Mountain location. It seems that the Stardew devs didn't fully de-hardcode the Crab Pots fields for that location. Luckily I was able to input the missing data with the chances for trash to be lower and it seems to be working now!
For Rainbow Trout, I found the issue to be that 1.6 added two entries for Rainbow Trout and Squid for their own festivals. They both use the same ID. So the exclusion settings were targeting the festival fish and not the originals. I have corrected this too so it'll just target the original and keep the festival fish active :)
The Crab Pots and Rainbow Trout Exclusion fix will be released later with the original Fishing Made Easy Suite 6.0.8!
Thanks again and have a fantastic day!!
*Update*
The Crab Pots No Trash option will now fully guarantee no trash being picked up :) So basically there's two checks for trash to spawn for crab pots. I disabled the main one where trash has a chance to spawn over all other fish. So essentially crab pots have this criteria:
1. Trash chance (10 to 20%).
If that fails..
2. Crab Pot fish chance.
If any chance for fish fails..
3. It goes back to trash as a 100% chance as a fallback item.
What I actually didn't realize was the checks for crab pot fish goes down the list. So for Ocean fish it goes:
Crab, Oyster, Clam, Shrimp, Cockle, Mussel in that order.
What I did was change the Mussel chance to 100%. Which fully disables the trash fall back from happening. So if a trash item were to spawn, it'll always be Mussel. I did the same with the freshwater fish where Periwinkle has a 100% chance to cancel out trash as a fallback.
I know that's a little technical but thought I'd share what I discovered and changed :) Let me know if you have any further issues!
Omg thank you so much!! You're an amazing modder getting to all this so fast! ❤️ I'll download the new updates and try them out. Sounds like everything should be good!
Hello!I met this:[Content Patcher] Can't apply data patch "Fishing Made Easy Suite - SVE Expansion > Fishing Difficulty 10% Easier" to Data/Fish: there's no record matching key 'FlashShifter.StardewValleyExpandedCP_Starfish' under Fields. How can i fix it?
Hi there! You may need to remove Fishing Made Easy Suite - SVE Edition and reinstall it again. Looks like you may be trying to use the 1.5 version of the game? 5.0.9 only supports 1.5. 6.0.0 supports 1.6. The mod was revamped in 6.0.0 and renamed so if you're using a mod manager by chance, there may be 2 versions of the mod installed at the same time.
Hi there. Do you plan to add the option to decrease price values of fish just like you have in your main mod?
The main reason I'm using your fishing series is to balance out my play experience. I'm using the skip minigame mod due to a neurological condition I have in my hands, but unfortunately SVE fish on the Sheer Bridge is way too easy to cheat on since their sale price is so high, especially in year one. I was hoping this addon would also have that same decrease price option but I only see increase options. :(
Hi there! Yep the original Fishing Made Easy Suite is required for this mod to work now. This mod only affects SVE fish. So you will have to configure options between the two mods if you want both vanilla and SVE fish to be affected. This change was necessary in order to keep any future updates to SVE separated and vice versa.
[Content Patcher] Can't apply data patch "Fishing Made Easy Suite - SVE Expansion > Fishable Prismatic Shards (REQ) Forest West Common 30%" to Data/Locations: there's no record matching key '(O)74' under Fields. [Content Patcher] Can't apply data patch "Fishing Made Easy Suite - SVE Expansion > Fishable Prismatic Shards (REQ) Grampleton Suburbs Common 30%" to Data/Locations: there's no record matching key '(O)74' under Fields.
I've no idea what it means or if it will affect the game in anyway. :(
Hi there! Did you enable the Fishable Prismatic Shards (REQ) setting under the original Fishing Made Easy Suite as well? They both need to be enabled under both mods. This was just a bandaid way of trying to get those settings to work properly for now!
And it won't affect the game when the errors are yellow, it'll just not apply that setting :)
So I made sure that both the original Fishing Made Easy Suite as well as the SVE Expansion one matched (they already were but I redid it) but the issue still persists.
Hi there! I don't really see any errors specifically for Fishing Made Easy Suite. Is there a specific error showing up with the Prismatic Shards settings being enabled?
The only errors I see are for mods not updated yet for 1.6.
I really love the new config options we got! It's nice having it split up too. Thank you so much <3 this mod is truly essential to my gameplay, even if I eventually raise the difficulty later on again!
You're very welcome!! I'm happy to hear you like the new layout! It's something I've been nitpicking since I started development last fall! Wanted to make it look much nicer for the eyes and for the player themselves :)

How can i fix it?
I only ask because an issue is fixed in the next release pertaining to Clownfish and Starfish if using the More New Fish mod :)

Yes! Just finished coding them today :) The next update is re-adding and porting over settings from the main mod as well as a few fixes.
It's a lengthy process but I'll have the update ready soon!

Edit: I put in the *Fishing Made Easy Suite* (the original one) together with the SVE one, and it seems to have worked.
Edit: Never mind, in game the settings don't work.
