About this mod

Gives you a secondary inheritance from Grandpa- a modest fund to start you off on restoring the farm- with a promise of more rewards with every milestone you reach.

Ever feel a little underwhelmed with inheriting a run down farm? Wish that Grandpa had given you something to start off with? The farm was supposed to be glorious in its hey-day, so where did those funds go?

This mod adds a letter hidden under your mailbox, left by Grandpa for you to find, with a small, modest inheritance to get you started.... with the opportunity for more, should you help restore the farm to its former glory.


What this is:
  • A "lore friendly" boost for new games without using cheat mods.
  • The "inheritance" is 10,000.
  • The letter will show up in your mail on Spring 1, Year 1.
  • It will also show up in established saves!

Installation:
  • Download and Install the latest version of SMAPI
  • Download and Install Mail Framework Mod to /Stardew Valley/Mods.
  • Download and Install this mod to /Stardew Valley/Mods.

Change Log:


  • v1.1.1- fixed broken dependency lines.
  • v1.1.0- updated manifest to work properly with MFM's framework.
  • v1.2.0 -updated manifest.
  • v1.3.0- updated manifest to work properly with MFM's updated framework; increased the amount given to 10,000.

Compatibility:
  • This mod requires Mail Framework Mod, and as such, is not compatible with FeTk and Tool-Upgrade Delivery Service

Want to tweak the amount? Want to get an estate's worth of money? A pittance?

  • You can go into the "Mail" file in the mod's folder, and edit the following line:

??%item money 10000 10001 %%",
  • Change the numbers to whatever amount you want- example: 20000 20001, to give yourself 20,000 instead of 10,000!

Future Planned Updates:

  • Seasonal letters
  • Story based letters (eg: finding another letter with every house upgrade; finding letters when upgrading/fixing parts of the Community Center.)
  • Milestone Year reward letters (Year 3, 5, 10)

Disclaimer:
  • This is not a diss on anyone who uses cheats like CJB- I use them all the time.
  • This is simply a mod to give a lore friendly boost for "challenge playthroughs,"  or folks who don't use CJB.
  • I made this for myself for one of my "no CJB" runs and thought I'd share it here. ♥
  • This is my first mod, please be gentle, lol.
