I think that might be a separate issue related to the UI size... Do you happen to have UI scale at something other than 100% and zoom level at 100%? If so, does changing the zoom level to something else fix the bug and make the bubbles go back to where they are supposed to?

I really love this mod but i dont think its going to get updated because uplader hasnt been active in nearly a year so if any modders are reading this could you please make an updated version and give all credit to Urbanyeti

New version (2.0.0) is up and adds compatibility for 1.6 and a few other small things.
hey guys i updated it myself, but cant test it very much yet. First short tests showed heart icons on chickens though, so it seems to be okay. anyone want to test it too?

the source code is available on github, i downloaded it and updated it to Net6.0. but i had to changed a few things in code because it was changed a lot by the 1.6 Update

I ended up making my own compatibility changes along with a bug fix that I've been chasing for awhile, but if you have any other changes or modifications from your version, you could create a PR (or message me if you're not as comfortable with git) and I can merge them in!
This mod enabled me to free-range my animals while getting them petted. Hope it gets updated otherwise I'll be forced to keep my animals in small fenced areas in 1.6
