    Regarding Stardew Valley 1.6

This mod won't require an update for Stardew Valley 1.6, but will require all it's dependencies to be updated.

Thanks and good game for you all.

if anyone is wondering how to make the gem lamps last forever go to '[PFM]GemLampPostMod', open ProducerRules.json and set every "SubtractTimeOfDay" you can find from true to false. Hope it helps
EDIT: forgot to mention you have to change "MinutesUntilReady" value to something like 999600

in my opinion (if i'm understanding the mod correctly) its a bit of a waste of a gem to have the lamp running for one day just for aesthetics. maybe it should include some sort of passive bonus for the time its running or run for at least a week. but even then its still loads of annoying micro managing and quests.

There is no quests, just some friendship requirement to send the letters with the recipes or notifying they are available to purchase.
There is a reward for using the gems. You have a 1% chance of getting a prismatic shard from the composing the gem dust. You also have about 16% of getting a different other than the one you used.
But the gem posts are mostly for atheistic an flavor.
Mods are a way to customize your game, and I'm all for customization.
So people can edit my files and change the time it take to run out, the of dust needed for the compose, the requirements for the letter,... anything basically.
It's not difficult to edit PFM and MFM files.

The default configuration is the way I thought most people would enjoy the mod, but anyone can change thing if they think other way.
If you need any help with that, just ask.
But take a look on the template on PFM and MFM pages, they explain every property of the json file.

Okay, so, in trying out the mod, the ruby definitely glows red, but we couldn't get the emerald to glow green, nor the amethyst to glow purple.  Are we doing something wrong?  The lamp still pulsed and then put out the dust, but no glow.

Are the lamps to close to each other?

The way the light works in the game do not let them overlap properly.

Do some tests to see which distance works best.

Question: is PFMAutomate necessary if you're not using Automate to begin with?

[Optional] If you want to automate the post or the machine.

I love this idea!! For some reason I'm unable to load the gems into the lamp post. I built them - placed them. But when I try to click on the lamp post with the gem in hand nothing happens. Am I missing something?

    From Mod Description: "Objective:
To provide the player a reliable way to get monster loot on a regular basis."

I don't get it.  What does this have to do with monster loot?  the 1% prismatic gem chance?  I am confused!

Reminds me of that level in the original Spyro where you had to light up the colored lamps to get a dragon egg!

Someone else also mentioned it on reddit.
I never really played Spyro, so it was just a coincidence.

It would be a nice quest to implement in Stardew.

What the hell - I was thinking about how cool it would be to have gem lamps shining in the respective color of the gem put inside (and also about its impossibility since I have zero experience in modding) and then just a few hours later this mod was released!! What are the odds? Like a fairy had granted me a wish. Amazing. I couldn't use it yet because I started a new game on PC a only few days ago but I'm really looking forward to decorating my farm with your fancy lamp posts. Thank you!

I started to work on this one as soon I implemented the light feature in PFM. I wanted to show the PFM capabilities and thought people would enjoy it.
But the light in Stardew has some quirks I was not satisfied with. Color is applied using texture, and they don't merge, they just go over each other, so if you place 2 lamp posts next to each other, only one of them will show the color. I don't know if that is a limitation with XNA or with the Stardew use of it.
But I never manage to really work around it, but giving a small range to the light of the lamp post still gives a satisfactory result, so I decided to release it now.

      I hope people enjoy it.
