After lookin/taking ? something out?

I also encountered this issue with items disappearing from my chest. It might be best to collect an error log on this and upload it to the forums where it's being maintained.
In version 1.5 it seems to have a bug, duplicate objects sometimes. It is what I could notice when using it with this version. I don't know if the same thing happens to more people
Same here. Apparently the bug appears when you update SMAPI to 3.8.1. Before updating SMAPI, the bug did not happen to me.
When I use the Shift + Right-Click tool to decide the amount of items to withdraw, instead of getting the selected item, it becomes the item that is to its left in the chest.
The rest of that last line in the error code pointed you to mods.smapi.io, you can look up this mod there to find the link to the unofficial update, which does work with the latest game version.
I don't believe this is compatible with ChestEx. I am able to split stacks when crafting or purchasing items from a shop, but I'm not able to split stacks using this mod's features from a chest (placing items in or removing items) while using ChestEx.
