In my own experimenting I've gotten the ears to work just fine with body mods by loading them after. I honestly don't know why it doesn't work for everyone, I don't really code, I'm an artist first and foremost. The ear sprite sometimes flickers with hats and hair, no idea why. Some people have had issues with hair hiding the ears, again, I don't really know why but they work on my end even with custom hair. This was intended to be a personal project and it got far more attention than I anticipated , I don't know how to fix the issues you have.
I tested my mod with the last few versions and it worked just fine, if you are having issues please check if you have any other mod that edits the player sprite. If you are still having issues without any other mod changing the player sprite, submit a bug report (preferably listing the mods you're using) and I'll take a look.

I love this mod and its energy (ears must flop!). If one day the kissing animation is ever fixed I'd be so happy. For now, I just love fishing with the ears flopping :) it's not a bug to me
edit: Changing to the CP overlay changed the kissing ear line up! I was using FS before
Working great with 1.6. I use the overlay version with the animated hair from Shardust for FS (also a few other FS mods) and the female farmer sprite from seasonal cute characters. No issues so far. Thanks for making them expressive. Looks very cute :)
I have like 10 hours in 1.6 and have noticed nothing wrong. If folks are having issues that aren't related to compatibility with other mods I'll take a look, but for now it seems fine.

It's not a pic crew, I drew it myself. It's a bit outdated, I made it back in 2021 and it's a bit off. But yeah, it's my "shroomsona", his name is Patches.
Hilariously when I used this mod for oversized sleeves the ears would disappear. I'm using the overlay version. Thankfully I'm just downloading a different oversized sleeves mod but it's a funny little bug.
