While i really don't like the idea of this mod, i don't really mind if some people would prefer for their game to match their beliefs, which is the main purpose of mods, to customize the game like you want. I still hate the mod but that's just because of my beliefs, but if someone else likes it then good for them and for you for giving them the option.
It's a farming game, it doesn't need to have so much occult stuff, some people just want to play a silly little farming sim game, without it going against their religion, sounds like you just have a prejudice against Christians
A reason someone would hate of this mod is really centered around "Feeling Shamed". Because if "Magic is evil" then "You must be evil if you like magic." pretty much. Like seeking pleasure to avoid pain would be considered "a sin" which makes you feel like you're bad, and being judged. This triggers a defense mechanism to lash back.
Wow, there are... a lot of hostile comments here Hey modder: As someone who would probably never use this mod, I'm still very glad you made it. Because clearly there are people who want and use this mod and I think that's cool as heck. So I just wanted to throw some positivity your way and I hope you're doing good my friend
Its just a nice little mod for Christians who are uncomfortable with "yoba" in the game, and makes us feel better with having our lord in the game. It doesn't affect you, so I see no reason for your comment on this. God bless.
There's nothing wrong with "the need to insert our religion into every possible aspect of life." Us, Christians/Catholics, hold God in our hearts above all, ofc we'd want to insert Him into "every possible aspect of life". We respect those who don't hold our beliefs and only ask y'all to do the same, thanks. This mod doesn't gatekeep anybody from anything, it's simply an option for those interested.
non-christian here! It's not something bad that they made a mod like this, like, it's a mod, not a game, so it's not like it's forcing their religion or something...
It is so sad that you feel the need to insert your bitter opinion on religion into every possible aspect of life, even a Stardew Valley mod comment section
Religion isn't self-help nor an ideology, it's a way of viewing the world in its purest essence, the weird thing would be following a religion and NOT making it an integral part of your life. Spirituality speaks to people in ways that are bigger than any human-made concept like politics or economics, and it's obvious that you've never had such an experience.
What I don't understand is why you sought this mod out just to comment this. You don't have to download it. And you don't have to talk down to someone for their faith. Try keeping it to yourself next time
it's a farming game bro, it doesn't need occult things, this mod just removes the occult things so christian can play it comfortably, and adds christian stuff instead of it, again so christians can enjoy the silly little farming game more
I got frustrated seeing all of the unholy things like 'fortune telling' in the game, I am glad someone created this, and may God bless you all. IC XC NIKA
'cause religion is a coping mechanism to mask the harshness of reality. believing that there's a magical being that's gonna scoop you up and rescue you, really takes the edge off. The brain learned it can "Self-Sooth", and it adhers itself to this belief with all its might in order to stay sane against the idea of oblivion.
Your beliefs in God are insecure, which is why you felt the need to reply in a defense. Your brain can't have your coping mechanism threatened, because you can't fathom the reality of oblivion (nothing after death)
